Inspired by television crime dramas, Battlefield Hardline's story is told across 11 "episodes."

Los Angeles is embroiled in a drug war and officer Nick Mendoza has just made detective. Alongside his partner, veteran detective Khai Minh Dao, he follows the drug supply chain from the streets to the source. In a series of increasingly off-the-books cases the two detectives come to realize that power and corruption can affect both sides of the law.

Here's the "episode guide."
Here's the list of characters and their backgrounds.

It's Battlefield - you know what you're in for. This game does ditch tanks in favor of cars. Commander mode is now Hacker Mode.

There are seven modes - Blood Money, Conquest, Crosshair, Heist, Hotwire, Rescue, and Team Deathmatch.
  • Blood Money - An objective mode that pits cops and criminals against each other in a fight to seize a large sum of money from the opposing team.
  • Conquest - You know what this is.
  • Crosshair - Half objective and half deathmatch. The cops must escort a VIP to an extraction point, while the criminals fight to eliminate him before the time runs out. No vehicles, and no respawns!
  • Heist - An objective mode where the criminals try to blow open a vault and escape with the cash. Cops must prevent the robbery and the criminal's escape.
  • Hotwire - Cops chase down criminals at high speeds across expansive environments.
  • Rescue - Objective mode where the authorities try and save hostages from their captives.
  • Team Deathmatch - Two teams fight to the death. No vehicles allowed!
Here's all the vehicles.
Here's all the gadgets.
Here's all the maps.
Here's a driveable couch.

EA posted 32 reasons to play the game for some reason
lol
.

If you have subtitle ideas, please do post them. I may or may not get one added in.

Nice OT. I'm still on the fence, it's tough because I absolutely love BF 4 and I'm still playing it to this day.

Any early access impressions of the MP?

I like how it doesn't take itself seriously and I like that some of the maps are catered different game modes (Hollywood Heights, Bank Job, Growhouse for Heist for instance). But the theme is ... eh and I'm not a huge fan of it's fast pace. I guess I'll wait for impressions/reviews.

Just got to Chapter 4 in the campaign, I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Very different from usual Battlefield and it's a refreshing change.

I probably won't play online much if it all, but so far so good.

It's sad to read the OT (it's good btw, sorry if looks like I'm criticizing it) and see that Visceral has so much potential, like we saw on Dead Space franchise, but it's wasting all of it on just another FPS game. This don't even look like a good DLC,couldn't even understand how they put an $60 price tag on it,it's a shame :( .
Well, maybe I'm very wrong and this will be pretty good when it launches, but my expectations are really low by now.

I've been playing HL since it was available on EA Access. I've been playing Hotwire the most since it's a unique game mode. I tried Conquest, which is all I play on BF games, but for some reason, I'm not digging it on HL. Just doesnt have that true BF feeling.

The load out system is pretty simple and limited. I'm glad they added load out customization at the main menu, unlike BF4, you had load out access while in a match or Battlelog.

The music when jumping into a car is fantastic. I usually get old school Public Enemy tracks.

Still undecided on getting it. Haven't played competitive MP since BF3. I do want to try the single player campaign though.

WHY IS TDM 64 PLAYERS :( It's such a clusterfuck. Worse spawns than AW. Hopefully something they fix on launch or something. Hotwire, Crosshair, Heist and Blood Money are very good though.

So whats our guys favorite weapons so far? Really havent purchased to much. Im mostly interested in playing operative (I think thats the one, where you play as a medic) or a mechanic.

I made the mistake of buying one of the machine guns or whatever for the enforcer class. My god that thing is terrible. Or maybe im just using it completely wrong I dont know.

MPX is king.

Even without adding a stock and heavy barrel

For anyone that purchased the game and playing early via EA Access, did you get all your Battle Packs? They did download for me, but not seeing them in the BP area. Maybe appear at true launch date?

What? I thought they'd lock player so that they'll suit each mode.
One big issue in BF has always been idiot admins setting all servers to 64 players even for other modea than CQL. "64 players" has become a buzzword when it comes to Battlefield, as if it was always better with more players.

I had high hopes for this, but recent things that have come out about the game have disappointed me, i no longer pre-order games, if the reviews & feedback are good then i will pick this up once my backlog has gone down a bit, unless it's stella i'll get it right away.

Nice OP, love those GIF's.

Hey I'm just building a pc after a looong break. What type of performance would you expect from a game like this if you have minimum system requirements? Recommended?
