Inspired by television crime dramas, Battlefield Hardline's story is told across 11 "episodes."
Los Angeles is embroiled in a drug war and officer Nick Mendoza has just made detective. Alongside his partner, veteran detective Khai Minh Dao, he follows the drug supply chain from the streets to the source. In a series of increasingly off-the-books cases the two detectives come to realize that power and corruption can affect both sides of the law.
Here's the "episode guide."
Here's the list of characters and their backgrounds.

It's Battlefield - you know what you're in for. This game does ditch tanks in favor of cars. Commander mode is now Hacker Mode.
There are seven modes - Blood Money, Conquest, Crosshair, Heist, Hotwire, Rescue, and Team Deathmatch.
- Blood Money - An objective mode that pits cops and criminals against each other in a fight to seize a large sum of money from the opposing team.
- Conquest - You know what this is.
- Crosshair - Half objective and half deathmatch. The cops must escort a VIP to an extraction point, while the criminals fight to eliminate him before the time runs out. No vehicles, and no respawns!
- Heist - An objective mode where the criminals try to blow open a vault and escape with the cash. Cops must prevent the robbery and the criminal's escape.
- Hotwire - Cops chase down criminals at high speeds across expansive environments.
- Rescue - Objective mode where the authorities try and save hostages from their captives.
- Team Deathmatch - Two teams fight to the death. No vehicles allowed!
Here's all the gadgets.

Here's a driveable couch.
