If people don't like it came out on the Wii U, buy a bloody Wii U to play 2, if it wasn't for Nintendo we wouldn't have got a sequel, it's like people bloody moaning Gears Of War is Xbox exclusive. Shhhh and just buy the bloody machine and enjoy the best 3rd person fighter ever made (cough god hand).

To further this point, the journals are in this game for a reason. They flesh out the story and it will all make much more sense once you have read them.
Also, i have said this time and time again in Bayo 2 threads. PLAY BAYO 1 First.

If you are that impatient watch a cutscene monologue on youtube at least.

Bayonetta 2 is as much prequel as sequel in some ways and you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't play the first game IMO.

Bayo 1 is $30 on the eShop, and Bayo 2 is $50 on the eShop. If you buy one, you get a $20 discount on the other.

Bayonetta 2 is $49.99 on the eshop. If you get that you'll be able to buy Bayonetta 1 on the eshop for $9.99. (meaning you get both for $59.98)
