I do normally use a undercut, I'm just waiting to my friend that normally cuts my hair returns from her vacation

Seriously though, it's looking good. Personally I'd grow it more, but then I'm always of the opinion that more beard is a better beard so you might want to discount my opinion if you want to keep it trim and tidy.

Happens to me every time I visit the neighborhood I grew up in.So I let my beard grow out and get longer for a couple months, but I'm not sure if it works for my face. My mustache is unmanageable when it gets longer even when using wax, so I keep it trimmed and it just isn't as dense as the rest of my beard and is lighter.
Also after taking this photo I'm thinking the beard makes my face look too long. Considering taking about a couple inches off. I would appreciate honest opinions, I like having it long and managing it but just don't think it is working for my face.

You have a point though, maybe you could shape it more pointer. Don't make it shorter, just angle it.

Three month selfie. No trimming at all except for a bit along the upper parts of my sideburns which is only because my barber will fade it all into my hair when I get a hair cut. Otherwise, no trimming, no shaving, nothing. Straight beard, bruh.

Have you trimmed it on the cheeks? I wonder if it looks too long because it starts low down on the cheek?
Mine's not too dissimilar to that although I'm fuller around the mouth and further up the cheek, also not as long as yours yet.
I did originally when it was shorter but I haven't touched it at all for a couple months so where it's at is about the best it's going to get.

Any recommendations for what to put in my beard to keep it from getting too puffy? I want a sleeker looking beard but I also don't want it too greasy or anything.
You'll probably want a balm of some description to keep it in check. The only one I've used so far is Beard Commander - which is fine but it's also a little on the greasy side. I've actually got a new one on the way right now so I can't comment on how it leaves the beard feeling other than to say the reviews are good.

I have always trimmed above but like the look of below. When i start growing it out I feel maybe I just don't have the mouth/stache to pull it off? it starts feeling really sloppy.

I go with above since I feel my mustache is exactly as you described. It just doesn't come in dense enough.

I can't see the above pic, but below looks good. If you do want to start growing it out and sweep it to the side you'll need to be patient while the centre gets long enough to allow it.

Do you guys have any idea how to straighten a curly beard?
Embrace it. I try to comb mine in the shower since it's easier to remove most of the tangled hair then. I also comb it again when I apply my beard oil. This is the comb I useuse as I was having difficulty with the finer tooth ones.
Or go drastic and grow it out long enough and use a hair straightener.

Your skin looks so soft. I'll bet if you shave that off you will look six months old.
Haha, which is why at 28 I make sure to keep a beard.
I haven't tried it but a lot of people recommend blow drying to straighten it out. Not going to be a permanent solution though.

First of all: where do I get this kind of comb?
I once tried hair relaxer to straighten my beard. The one that africans afro-americans use for curly hair. Huge mistake. I almost burnt my whole skin.
I got mine from modcabin.com, but when I pulled that image yesterday it said they were out of stock. So that kinda sucks, but you could contact them and see when it might be coming back.

The hair on my cheeks grows like shit. I'd like some unbiased opinions on whether I should cut my losses.
It's the same on the other side (it's hard to take a picture of that side). It has been 1 1/2 months. Do I stick it out? Will I eventually be able to do like a beard comb-over? It grows in well pretty much everywhere else, shit sucks.

I hadn't shaved the hair off my chin since my last day in the military in December 2011. I've been working out of the country for the last three and a half years, with two or three months a year back home with my family, and my wife has been on my ass about shaving it all off. It has been a full wild unkempt beard, a long-ass goatee, various things, but the chin hair has remained untouched even if I would shave the side down. I was happy with the two 10-inch-long gray hairs that I found in it. I loved the way it looked and felt.
I promised that whenever I quit and returned home for good, I would shave. I figured that it would be so far down the road that I didn't have to think about it. Well quitting time finally arrived: I leave on Friday, and I figured I had to keep my word. Especially because it is her birthday next week, so it would be something special I could do for her (and anyway, I never promised that I would keep it shaven, I can just as easily let it grow out some more with the promise of "I'll shave when I get a new job" and ride that out for a while).
I went in to the base barber and had him shave what little hair I have left on top of my head that hasn't fallen out and he shaved off my facial hair. He kept asking me if I was sure, because I have talked about this day with him for three years' worth of haircuts now. I told him I was and that he better just get it over with.
Well he did, and I have to say it didn't look bad right away. I have gotten fatter over the last couple years though and the 12 inch plus goatee/beard did serve to hide how bad my chin/neck is. I thought 'this might not be so bad.' Then I got home and took a shower. Upon getting out, I went to start my post-shower routine and grabbed my comb. I got the comb up to my chin, stopped, and just stood there in front of the mirror like "Wait, what do I do now?" All day long I have been reaching up to stroke a beard that isn't there. I've read about amputees and phantom limbs before; I think I may have a case of phantom beard. I keep trying to adjust or straighten or clean or move out of the way a beard that is no longer there.
It's hitting me really hard, guys. Plus my chin is cold now.

I did this last year after only around 7 months, so I can't imagine how much you're struggling over having it for so long. I'm right back to where I left off now though, and it was a useful exercise if only to make me understand that I should never do that again.

I feel your pain, friend. A few years ago, I had to shave off my beard for a role in a short film a friend was directing and I was totally horrified by what was hiding underneath. I feel like I actually look younger with my beard because it hides my weird, saggy jowls. The good thing is it grows back. I've learned my lesson, I'm never shaving mine off again.

5 months. Sideburns trimmed a bit by my barber when getting my hair cut. Mustache trimmed a bit to keep it from totally consuming my mouth. That's it as far as trimming.
My beard has honestly become a conversation starter. A lot of people seem to really like asking me about it, complimenting it, or just bringing it up for whatever reason. I enjoy the attention, as it turns out.

Nice! I have formed a habit of straightening mine at the sides (once a month, along with getitng rid of any particularly untidy stragglers) but as of right now I think I'm going to let it go a little wild!
