Nice. Place ya bets!
Pretty much this. I love my IIDX but have had no way to play since RED, and I lost my account at that one place(?). Ugh.On the one hand, yay for the fact they're still making these.
.......but considering importing was my only way, it's a huge shame they stopped after Empress. You'd think on PS3, DLC would've been a no-brainer. Or at the very least, combine two games into one with the disc space.

You'd think it'd be a no-brainer to put out a Steam release with DLC packs with all the songs by version, or a monthly eAmuse Home subscription. With the amount that people are willing to drop on a controller for the game, people would buy all the content no matter the price point.
Then again, it would eat into Arcade sales, and Beatmania's pretty much niche at this point, and Konami is Konami, so...
It's just annoying that for over 99% of the US it's impossible to play this game now.
And I'm assuming Konami would see the Japanese Steam userbase as not being big enough.
I hate this argument so much -- honestly, piracy is an issue of distribution first and pricing second. Steam in Russia is a great example of that. Russia is notorious for being a piracy haven, and Valve addresses this by making it extremely easy to distribute/purchase games on Steam and by encouraging publishers to adjust their pricing downward so it makes sense for the market. Now Russia is their second biggest market in Europe.Elsewhere like Taiwan, China and SEA, too many people would simply just pirate everything.
There's one huge issue with this, though -- all of these games require specialized controllers in some way. You can't download that (and the person with the 3D printer can stuff it). How are you going to sell those things? Who would even stock them? You could probably outsource it by partnering either with someone who makes hardware (like Hori or Matcatz) or a boutique seller who is already making controllers (someone like Dao or Virgoo), but what is the size of that market? I know the IIDX fanbase is absurdly dedicated, but could it carry a release even with an average revenue per uses that's in 3-4 digits (basically, the total inverse of how mobile games work). And how much damage would this do to their arcade releases? It's still a pipe dream for the rest of the world though. Digital distribution is honestly the only real way to get around the prohibitive overhead of a diluted fanbase, like it or not, and the system lends itself amazingly well to modular games where content is straight out additional content and not bells and whistles like typical DLC is.

As much as everyone makes fun of Konami (and deservedly so in many instances), they actually already do this where it makes sense, with their mobile releases of jubeat and Reflec Beat.
This as well, considering it derives from the latin noun for "link". & we know Konami likes to tie their rhythm games together for unlockables & such.Copula as a linguistic term makes this sound thematically like LINCLE
RemyWiki also has a preliminary songlist up. Some of these genre names are... something. I'm not sure if I want any hybrid twerk in my life, thanks.
Holy crap, DJ Sharpnel. That sure takes me back to high school.
Also leave it to Konami to have the most "wtf, that exists?" song genres out there. "BROKEN SAMBA BREAK"? Like, what is that? "PIECED SUNDAY"?!
Sorry to necro this thread, but Round 1 in Tukwila (south of Seattle) is open, and has two IIDX Pendual machines. Both are in great shape, although kids are starting to tear up the grips on the turntables. e-Amusement is active; you can buy cards for ten bucks at the counter.
(There's also Pop'N Music (Tune Street?) and Sound Voltex III, if you're into either of those!)
Bemani games connected in North America? Wow.
How is this even possible?
If only D&B would pick this up.
I'm only in Japan for another month so I definitely need to find a place to go.
$10 for a card though? ouch.
There's no way Paseli is a thing, right?
Did you ever go to yahoo jp auctions to look them up? There's probably at least a few dozen unique cards out there in considering all the different games which have a few cards made for them.Speakin' of eAmuse cards, how many of them are considered "special"?

The cards are read-only cards, so they should work on any machine with card support. Data from one network won't cross over to another, of course. However, the Round 1 cabinets in the US are on the official e-amuse network, so any data you have from playing in Japan should carry over.I have one but I was using it at arcade in Boston that didn't use the Round 1 server and the machine rejected it. I wonder if I can clear the data somehow? Or is it even rewritable? I assume they are a read only code and it's bootleg or something.
Did they change that? Floating hi-speed and sudden+, along with judgement adjustments were all available when I played on a Tricoro cabinet with no card. You need to set them on every credit, but the options should work. Unless they really did gate them behind having a card with Pendual, which seems both unnecessary and completely within Konami's current MO :After playing Pendual a bit last night when eamuse was down, I'd have to say that having a card is pretty damned essential.
No eamuse = no floating hi speed nor sudden+ = no hi speed greater than 4.0 = all songs under 160BPM being difficult to time to unplayable
It also means that I can't have judgment turned off.
A one time investment of $10 is very much worth negating all that, and that's even besides the more essential concept of having scores and clears recorded.

Looking at the official page it seems like I should have been able to toggle the desired option setting screen.Did they change that?
Yes, I think you need to clear the 6th dan course at minimum to raise the difficulty cap.e-amuse / IIDX question - is there any way to get past the stupid 8* limitation for your first song? Feel like it's a waste of 1/3 of a credit.

Lunatic Rave 2i suppose there is no way to play IIDX emulated on a pc or something...?
you guys in the US have PENDUAL!?!? WOW IAM SO ENVIOUS.
What I wouldn't give for IIDX at D&B. Details?
