"You are a pedo"
"No I'm not"
"That's what a pedo would say"
No, it's more like some random stranger coming up to you on the street out of nowhere and telling you, "Listen, I don't care what they say, I'm not a pedophile!"
These threads make GAF worth visiting.
ps. I find colorful mushrooms erotic
What an amusing thread. These games seem pretty decent considering how small a team Gust apparently is.
Probably it has been mentioned already but one thing that caught my attention was how they "de-aged" the protagonist of the first Arland game for the third one.
Guess she was getting too old or something.
Yup, they loli-fied Rorona in Meruru from what I read on a SanCom article awhile back. She was getting up there in age chronologically and they wanted to keep her cute or something.
How old was she?
I got my info from SanCom.
For whatever it's worth I think even the Japanese fanbase was pissed off over that. Geez, what a way to screw up one of the most appealing aspects of going forward in time. Plus if a 40 year old can look like a respectable older teenager then I can't see why it'd actually matter.Yup, they loli-fied Rorona in Meruru from what I read on a SanCom article awhile back. Can a 14 year-old like Yoko really be considered a woman? That's in bad taste.
There's always an explanation for everything isn't there?Technically none of the ages are official since people were living underground and weren't keeping actual track of the days. Yoko and Kamina were probably more like late teens.
You fight the final boss to this song, too.
So we can safely assume that Meruru is actually a prequel set when she was 3, and the dev staff actually aged her up?

Gust, the developers of the Atelier moe-RPG series, have stated that their mysterious decision to turn the protagonist of the original Kishida Mel designed game into a loli in the upcoming Atelier Meruru was because they could not bear the prospect of having her appear in her thirties…
Their comments in a recent interview:
Who came up with the idea of Rorona ending up like that? Was there opposition?
All the development team were united in thinking “we don’t want to see Rorona in her thirties.” So, we were all in agreement there.
Having a thirty-something Rorona going “hawawa!” was something I think everyone can do without.
Sorry, saying anything more will be a personal attack so I’ll have to leave it at “no comment.”
In fairness, a 30-year-old woman finding herself transformed into a loli is probably a win-win situation for all parties concerned.
Expect the game to be banned throughout the west.
In other remarks Gust revealed that if they cannot keep making loli Atelier games they will in fact die:
Have you decided on making the next Atelier?
If Gust doesn’t keep making Atelier games we’ll die, so I think we’d better keep making them if we want to live on!
EDIT: Well, hetranslatedmade up the articlefromand linked to http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/374/374892/

That's like 35 in anime years.It doesn't help that she's also 13 too.
Oh Gust.
