Yup, they loli-fied Rorona in Meruru from what I read on a SanCom article awhile back. She was getting up there in age chronologically and they wanted to keep her cute or something.
How old was she?
She's in her mid to late 30s by the time of Meruru I think.
I only played Rorona so I'm not quite sure. I got my info from SanCom.
So we can safely assume that Meruru is actually a prequel set when she was 3, and the dev staff actually aged her up?
For whatever it's worth I think even the Japanese fanbase was pissed off over that. Geez, what a way to screw up one of the most appealing aspects of going forward in time. Plus if a 40 year old can look like a respectable older teenager then I can't see why it'd actually matter.
Can a 14 year-old like Yoko really be considered a woman? That's in bad taste.

Technically none of the ages are official since people were living underground and weren't keeping actual track of the days. Yoko and Kamina were probably more like late teens.
There's always an explanation for everything isn't there?

I haven't actually read it yet, but on a scale of 1-10 where 1 is truth and 10 is me trolling, Artefact's default setting is somewhere around 3908.

Yeah, pretty much. :| I mean, she's cute as a kid, there's a legit in-story reason for the change that shouldn't surprise anyone (Astrid.....), and you can turn her back to normal/sorta normal by the end of the game, but still I would have much preferred to have her be/look her normal age. Like you said, if Esty can still look that good......
It's kind of hilarious in a sad way when the creative team's first thought regarding "Having a thirty-something Rorona going 'hawawa!'" is "well, let's make her a loli!" instead of "well, maybe she can just stop going 'hawawa!'"
