Berserk fans...what do you think about this question?

Mister Apoc

Demigod of Troll Threads
can this man, in the end, fully redeem himself?

I know it's a meme that this guy did nothing wrong but that is absolutely wrong. In my eyes nothing this guy does can redeem him, you can't blame destiny or causality or any of that bs, he made those choices at the end of the day.

I read 287 chapters of Berserk in one session last year, without having read anything of it before and after since then, so my memory is very fuzzy and I don't know all of the details to begin with (he cucked the berserk guy, killed his "gf" and his squad and did some ritual or something to gain power/summon some demons?) but I think I remember people (in the world) actually thinking he's a pretty swell guy? Doesn't he have his own entourage and shit and his own fangirl and stuff?

Man I need to get back into reading the Manga.

Spoilers in my whole post...
.
He was power hungry. Schmoozed with the right people, had crazy charm and charisma. Sexed the princess chick who loved him and whose dad... wanted her for himself.

Meanwhile Guts is awesome and wants to leave, beats Griffith in a fair fight and is building a relationship with Casca and others of the band. Griffiths takes it badly and the sexing the princess bit gets him all tortured and defaced and crippled. That's where somehow he uses the Behelith to gain power and rapes Casca and kills others and... vanishes.

Hope Guts gets his revenge.

It's mostly friendly shitposting. If Griffith did nothing wrong, why would he need to redeem himself.

It's much more worrisome a certain crowd completely misunderstanding Griffith and Guts relationship

Potential Spoilers

I do think once Guts is able to beat him and kill his Femto form, he will revert back to his human Pre Eclipse form where he was severely tortured and Guts will leave Griffith all alone letting him suffer till the day he dies. It would be poetic justice

Fuck no. He’s a sociopath who looks at other human beings as tools or obstacles. He only sees his loyal men and those that love him as things to control and use. He’ll weasel, murder, and manipulate his way to higher status. Griffith is also an enormous hypocrite who lost his shit and was willing to kill Guts, when Guts revealed himself to be the definition of what Griffith considers a “true friend”.

And this is all before The Eclipse.

I didn’t read much past the big sacrifice and stuff but is there even any hint of regret for his actions in the first place where there is a redemption route?

Reading the manga to see Griffiths downfall is partially what I live for.

Can’t say what anyone here hasn’t already said. His dream comes before anything. When he is nice, I don’t consider it so, everything he does speaks
Ulterior motive.

redeem? no. what he did was irredeemable and the whole point of the story is revenge afterall. the current empire he built thou seems to actually be very good for those who's living in it and it seems to be for the most part a just and good place. the question was always going to be if Guts is willing to destory that for everyone who's living in it to get to that revenge. and personally I think he's still going to do it, but probably having a lot of mental struggles getting to that point with how the latest chapters are going.
