the last time i tried using one of these sites it crippled my computer with trojans and spyware. so can anyone recommend a safe site that will effectivley block my ip when browsing the web?

There are different IP maskers, depending on what type of sites you browse on.
You tell me what you want to look at that requires masking your IP, and I'll find the program that best suits you.

i wanna watch the yankee game on mlb.tv at a friends house that doesnt have YES. but mlb.tv blackouts all the yankees games on mlb.tv if you're from new york.

and id rather have it be a website if possible.

I was actually hoping that it was some juicy site's you were visiting, not a Yankee game.
If he doesn't have the YES network, then he shouldn't be your friend anyway. You can always go to a bar and watch the game.
I don't know of any IP maskers, it sucks that they do that to you though.

I like Proxify from that list. You can also use this proxy app http://www.multiproxy.org/

All you need to do is use a proxy. Search for 'open proxies'.

Oh, and then look at your internet connection settings for your browser.
Fill in the proxy name and port number there.
