Well since this is what everyone wanted that other thread to be about, I think we should actually go with it in this thread because it's kinda a neat topic and there's lots of nice songs that fit their game well and leave a pleasant aftertaste. So please list.

As I said in the other thread, Katamari Love is one of the best ending themes made. When combined with the end credits, Katamari Damacy has the single greatest end credits ever.

EDIT: Although; Metroid for NES has the single greatest end credits theme of all time.

FFVIII - say what you will but the ending theme rocks. Dark moody then the better FF vocal song then straight into the best version of Final Fantasy theme recorded ever.

Nahh not really.

I forgot which Romancing game it was but the one Yoko Kanno composed. Mario 3 ending theme was pretty kick ass too.

Heavy spoilers on Conker's Bad Fur Day in black.

I may sound quite insistent or redundant, but -again- I really think Conker's Bad Fur Day had one of the most appropriate end credits songs, especially at the moment you become aware of the simple fact that the fun is over
because the ending contains the exact same shot pattern of sacred Conker sitting on his throne the game opened with. Then, they show you Conker re-sinking into alcohol, desperately trying to overcome the death of his dulcinea. And at the moment you know the only thing that changed since the beginning is a dark one, they close their story on a really depressing tone, abruptly contrasting with the overall humor of this piece. Kingdom Hearts. That song really made the whole ending and credits.

MGS1 and Xenogears also both had a really kickass ending song that rolled into the credits.

Super Mario Land -- good choice! Chip music rocked.

Tekken 3 was awesome. Final Fantasy IV, V, VI and VIII were awesome (VII kinda sucked). Dragon Quest endings are usually awesome. Link's Awakening was awesome. Minish Cap... hell, most of the Zelda games...

I could go on and on and on.

But right now I'm in a Tekken mood so I think I'll pop my Tekken 3 soundtrack in for a quick go-round.
 
Way back when I used to really like the ending music for FFIV, but nowadays by the time the end credits start rolling on a game I'm either making myself a sandwich, relieving myself in the lavatory, or doing both...

Have you ever heard the original version of Keep Your Head Up, from the Japanese game? It's instrumental and actually rocks really hard as well. Great choice by the way!

you don't need an mp3/oog. only winamp + the right plugin. hundreds and hundreds of nes/snes/genesis/sms/etc soundtracks can be found here. also, the filesizes are far smaller when you emulate the sound chip..
