Practically everything in Echoes reflects the utmost care in terms of design. Each zone in the game boasts inventive use of lighting and intricately designed architecture. The morphball puzzles, easily one of the most impressive aspects of the game, tax the brain through creative uses of the environment. Simply walking into new areas is awe inspiring. Players will often stand still for minutes at a time just soaking in the scenery. Every building and corridor features layer upon layer of detail, as do the natural environments. One of the greatest things about Echoes, and the series in general, is the ease with which a gamer is ripped from their homes and into a fantasy world. And a huge part of this is design of the environments, enemies, puzzles and weapons.

I prefer the nintendorks best of 2004 awards to the IGN best of 2004 awards. Furthermore, i prefer everything nintendorks does to everything IGN does.
