They do have a strategy game award... and they gave it to Pikmin 2.
Not to mention the runner-up award it got for GCN GOTY.

I'm surprised Symphonia won a runner-up for freaking best story and that's it. God damn, did anyone play that game for the story?

EDIT: hahah, look under "best character" in the movie awards, and check out the runners-up. Bush got a mention for his "work" in Farenheit 9/11. Hah! :lol

Perhaps they meant the levels themselves. Or the puzzles.

IGN said:
Practically everything in Echoes reflects the utmost care in terms of design. Each zone in the game boasts inventive use of lighting and intricately designed architecture. The morphball puzzles, easily one of the most impressive aspects of the game, tax the brain through creative uses of the environment. Simply walking into new areas is awe inspiring. Players will often stand still for minutes at a time just soaking in the scenery. Every building and corridor features layer upon layer of detail, as do the natural environments. One of the greatest things about Echoes, and the series in general, is the ease with which a gamer is ripped from their homes and into a fantasy world. And a huge part of this is design of the environments, enemies, puzzles and weapons.

I hated Fable, but maybe KOTOR2 is just that good...?

Maybe I should play MP2. For it to top BOTH Pikmin 2 and Four Swords is crazy.
