I finally got myself a DVD burner, and was wondering what the best DVD authoring software available for the PC was. I'm willing to spend around $70, but if it's above $100 I'm not interested.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

he asked for authoring, not burning software.

Adobe EncoreDVD, maybe? I have not idea how much it costs, though.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. It appears that Nero 6 has limited DVD authoring ability, so I will probably start with that since it's good to have for it's burning capabilities anyway. If I need more I will try DVD Lab.

Now a new question: can anyone help me make sense of the different types of DVD media available (or provide a link that explains it)? I haven't kept up on the issue at all.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
^^

DVD authoring deals with interface (gui, menus, options, .vob layout etc.)... The apps you speak of deal w/ burning.

So, I can set up the (gui, menus, options, .vob layout etc.)... with one app and burn it with another? That would be good since I find Roxio to be kinda cumbersome.

I'm new to this DVD burning thing so I'll have to try that I guess.
