Someone else noted that this is pretty much its own genre in Korean cinema. The Vengeance trilogy are among the best.

Most of the great ones have been mentioned (The Vengence trilogy by Park Chan Wook, Get Carter, I saw the devil, unforgiven, Mad Max, Payback...). Have you all watched a little gem titled Dead Man's Shoes with Paddy Considine? He is fantastic in it, and the flick is worth a watch.
Was just about to mention Dead Man's Shoes. Absolutely brilliant film.

Maybe not revenge but pretty close in some ways. All the others I was thinking about were already named.

Ravage wasn’t named yet unless I missed it.

Braveheart. But that might be stretching the revenge theme a bit far?

Three of the most historically inaccurate films ever made. I spit on all three, but I'll give Gladiator a slight pass because at least it's not offensive with its made up history.
True, but damn, if they weren't entertaining as fuck, especially Braveheart.

And I don't think Braveheart is stretching it in terms of being a revenge movie. As a matter of fact, the whole movie could have simply been a metaphor for revenge. Because, though it veers toward a story of independence for Scotland, it was all inspired by his loss of his true love and his anger as an expression of it. Did he really give a fuck about Scottish independence?

Probably doesn't matter, does it?

The best version of the greatest revenge story in human history...

Came here for this. Yea we all did the book report in middle school but it's a great movie about how while seeking vengeance a person can become a total piece of shit in the process but still seem sympathetic just because of what the other guy did to them.

Blue Ruin is the best I've seen probably. The main actor is excellent and it is paced extremely well. It keeps you hooked from the get go. I would highly recommend it.

It's not a revenge film but Doctor Sleep has some excellent scenes that more or less fall into the revenge category.

The Hills Have Eyes 2003 remake. When the tables turn on the villains it's delicious.

Eye For An Eye with Sally Field is an awesome revenge movie.
