Best Soundstation for Gaming?

-when you say "soundstation", do you mean an all in one pc speaker type system (like that logitech system), or are you open to anything (such as a home theater setup)? because i just purchased a Panasonice XR55 , and it is AMAZING! pure digital amplification, astounding features and it's under $250!

if your only looking for a small speaker system, i hear that Z-5500 is pretty good, i'd also checkout some of the klipsch stuff.

Yeah i meant a all in one package like that in my link, but its better to create your own set by buying the speakers, subwoofer and ampilifer separated?

-usually, yes. but it depends on the person. i for one, prefer going this route, mainly, because you get to choose each individual part that makes up your sound system, thus it sounds the way you like it. plus you can put it together as you get money. so if your cash flow was low, you could start with just a stereo setup, and then upgrade to a center channel and/or surrounds at a later time. the benefits are just too numerous.

but some people could just care less, and the all in one sound setups are just fine for them.

I bought the Z-680 a few years ago, I'm happy with it.. though, In a year I'll go the same road you took --> making my own set: choosing speakers, amplifier, subwoofer = superb audio quality

and as you said, you can easily upgrade.

Though, I don't need that kind of audio quality at the moment, most of the time (90%) I play games and you have to admit.. current-gen doesn't give us decent audio support. (most AAA games have Pro Logic 2 ok, but that's still not enough)

-just because it's not Dolby Digital or DTS, doesn't mean it's not good sound. while i do wish more games had surround sound audio, there are plenty that still have good sound quality.
