Best tasting water?

Evian is quite good, although sometimes I find it to be almost too "milky". My other favourites are President's Choice (probably because I have that in my water cooler) and the other awesome cheap water, Aberfoyle (now known as Nestle.) This Canadian Nestle must be much different than the one in America because it tastes great.

I despise both Dasani and Aquafina. They're just Coke and Pepsi without the syrup! They're made by the same people. Back when I used to work at a gas station, it used to always amuse me we would be run a special on the liter bottles of Coke and Pepsi so that they were cheaper than Dasani and Aquafina. People would still by the bottled water. I know they're different products altogether but it just seems silly to me.

Personally, I only drink bottled water that states specifically that it's spring water. I mean, what's the point in buying distilled water? I can get that from the faucet with a sheet of cheese cloth and a glass.

My personal preference for bottled water is Evian but that's so expensive that I generally can't rationalize buying it. Consequently, I ususally just drink tap water.

Talking about Barcelona's tap water I have to say that it's incredibly. It's so BAD that you want to throw up.

But when going to a small village on the pyrenees...it's like going to heaven. Best water ever.

Clor kills water.

Poland Spring. Nestle is fucking terrible, jesus christ. I didn't know bottled water could taste like that.

Guess who owns Poland Spring.

Anyway, Dasani is on my shit list, I don't know why they can't just leave water alone; the stuff has a damned ingredients list. Outside of that, I don't really have a preference, I go with whichever is cheapest and/or available.

What you have to look out for is the language on the label. Aquafina and Dasani are not spring water. It's essentially purified [tap] water. Which is fine, to be honest. It's just something I don't think a lot of people are aware of.

if you really want to talk fine water...

Known for it’s low mineral content, Voss is recommended to accompany fine wines and food and is the closest thing to pure H2O on the planet. “A sip of Voss is like drinking fresh air”.

According to what, the marketing pamphlet? I've had Voss before, and while water's water, it tasted a little sterile to me. I was also a little uncomfortable knowing that the bottle made it seem as if I was chugging back cologne.

Yes, do you know why? It comes in a fancypants bottle.

Evian.

I've done these tests millions of times, trying out tap water and stuff like Evian seconds after one another, and Evian is gooooood.

Watch 2020 on ABC tonight (I think). They are doing a blind test on 6 different brand waters, like they did with coffee brand few weeks ago... it might interest you guys.
Actually one of them is just NYC Tap water. Ongoing food myth series.

If I want just regular water I'll grab a bottle and use the built-in water dispenser on my fridge. Best tasting water I have bought though is one of these -

Pupu Springs near Takaka in New Zealand.

Even though you're not supposed to (cultural reasons, nothing to do with safety) I took a few gulps and it was amazing. So refreshing, so right. I would pay thousands to get it on tap.

Here's a page of photos: http://www.seafriends.org.nz/images/pupu.htm It looks far better in person on a warm, sunny day. Freakishly blue. :)

Last I heard, Sacramento had the cleanest/purest municipal water supply in the USA.

It's quite good -- and it all comes from the mountain snow.

Eww, Dasani is nasty.

Normally I don't care what bottled water I get. Most of the time I just drink filtered water or Poland Springs, but Dasani reminds me of the rancid DC tap water.

What an apt description. Because Dasani is in fact nothing more than purified tap water.

I like Nestle or Montclair...even Evian. Dasani is just gross and tastes like dirt to me. Aquafina's a little better but I'll still take more generic brands over it.

I won't touch it if it's not dog bath water. It's intoxicating. Seriously, I usually pass out.

I just got a pack of kiwi-strawberry flavored water. No sweeteners or calories. It claims it's flavored with minerals and vitamins, but then where does the taste come from? In the ingredients it says pruified water, natural flavors, citric acid, pantothenic acid, vitamin C, dipotassium phosphate, calcium lactate, magnesium sulfate, vitamin b-6, vitamin b-12 and folic acid. It's a very faint taste, almost nonexistant, but the kiwi-strawberry smell is strong. And it feels like water in my stomach, so I don't know. I'm kind of weary of it.
