Best Video Game Script?

Anyone else beaten this game yet? I imagine there's plenty of you that have. The script in this game is just awesome though.
After beating the mission on North Korea, I think one of the two best lines were:
Grimsdottir: They've locked onto the USS Ronald Reagan. You need to disarm that missile.
Sam: Wait, are you asking me to win one for the Gipper?
Hahaha... I dont know. What do you guys think? What videogames can you think of where the script to it is just awesome?

What we need around is here a bot that automatically replies to "best story" threads with:

Planescape: Torment.

I'm not talking about best story. I'm talking about best script.

GTA: San Andreas had the best script out of any game I have played. Not going to say the best gameplay, but best script by far.

I thought Fallout and Fallout 2 had excellent dialogue. You could really get a good idea of a person's personality very quickly. What was said and how it was said was always done perfectly.

Paper Mario: TTYD

On a similar note to impirius, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. When the dialogue becomes physically explosive, and Bowser, Mario and Luigi all panic when Peach rattles off a huge speech...

That game just had great comic timing.

Shenmue (i am serious, but you can commence your laughing now).

I second this, Shenmue II, and FF6
I mean, come on:
"Get up, I'll allow you to die like a warrior"-Lan Di

"Look Ryo, I taught Chibi a trick! Chibi!"-Megumi
"Meow"-Chibi
"THAT'S AMAZING!"-Ryo

"Have you seen a schoolgirl around here?"
"What is it with you Japanese people and schoolgirls?"

Celes: Sabin! You're alive!
Sabin: But of course! You think a minor thing like the end of the world was going to do me in?

"Why not? I don't have anything to lose but my life. . .and I got that for free!"- Setzer

"That's Shadow. He'd slit his momma's throat for a nickle."- Edgar

"Just need enough to feed my dog. Say, oh... 3000GP." - Shadow

Edit: SMRPG owns too

"You can't just bust in there like Bruce Lee!"
"Drink punch...? Eat cake...? Sounds... complicated. I'm not sure I can muster the strength to do it."

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

"You are above even The Boss. I hereby award you the title of Big Boss. You are a true patriot."

Metroid Prime. It played upon the player's knowledge of the Metroid universe wonderfully well. Plus, it was very well written and interesting.

I liked the dialogue in Eternal Darkness. Mad Max Roivas rocks.

Great voice acting in that game. Pious was good, too, as was the girl who voiced Xel'lotath.

But best script/story/dialogue whatever, it's gotta be Torment.

"I'd terrorize the South Seas! I'd torture the living! I'd demolish the -- uh -- um, what I meant to say was that I'd use it to pet kittens."

Tales of Symphonia.

"What's with the 4 on 1 garbage? Mithos... He did it by himself."

"Lloyd! You actually used the word 'Avaricious,' and you used it correctly!"

Townsperson: It's Magnius, from the eastern ranch.
Magnius: That's LORD Magnius, vermin!
(Magnius breaks his neck)

I thought Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year door had amusing dialog. And one can't deny Resident Evil 4's script, especially in comparison to the games that preceded it.

KotOR2's script was fantastic. Not a great story, but very interesting and well thought out dialogue, that not only served to further the story, but establish very strong personalities throughout the game.

Final Fantasy VII
The hell? I know I'm in an extreme minority here but damn...FFVII's story was horrible. Don't get me wrong. There were good parts but the overall script sucked. Combine that with a pretty bad localization...

/rant off

I'd have to go with Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. Fawful alone wins this.

I always thought WD did a nice job with their scripts (save some of the references they used in their older games)... Disgaea was also well-written (very funny)... also like the dialogue in a lot of Nintendo RPGs.

There should be an annoucement permanently afixed at the top of the gaming board with the message.

"Planescape Torment has the best story AND script".

Metal Gear Solid 3.

Once I got through the intro to the game, the story gripped my interest so much that I could not put the game down.
