:lol look i'm not trying to teach a logic class here--all i'm saying is that if i came out with something i would want people to actually give me the benefit of the doubt rather than just dismiss it without any proof. just common sense.

The common sense does not apply to this sort of thing.
To think it does only shows a lack of common sense.

Dude, you're a comedy gold mine here. I used to like reading those at the supermarket when my mom would go shopping. Being 8 years old, I was stupid enough to believe the majority of the shit in those.

So here's a question: how exactly are these guys going to save face come Monday, or whenever they've committed to showing their hand? Basically if they don't deliver a body early next week then they'll have a lot of 'splainin to do.

The George Lucas looking guy explicitly said he touched the thing and verified it seeing it up close. And I guess he has a rep for this stuff, even if only within the cryptozoology community, so he really is kind of putting it all on the line.

So if (when) this does turn out to be a hoax, how exactly will he try to get out of it? I'm betting they'll claim the body was stolen.

I would guess that we just won't hear much from them.

I'm on their side, because it looks like they could win.

also they make jerky from the slain bodies of their human oppressors

1- There is no way that Big Foots have remained hidden from civilization for so long.
2- There is no way no bones would have been found already, many times in the past decades.

This. Is. Fake.

Possum: The next great step in human evolution.

Allegedly

More details are expected to be released next week when, according to Biscardi, the creature will be examined by a team of scientists.

I ran over one last night coming home from my gf's. I wanted to stop but it was raining, and swerving wasn't the best option.

-1 for bigfoot to possum evolution

That's just... false.
• The Finnish Olympic Team has the lowest average body weight among those nations competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics.

• The sport with the largest interntational fan base and yet is not included in the Olympics is Rugby.

• Thirty-four percent of the food consumed by the athletes in the Olympic Village at the 2008 Olympic games will be protein.

• The average age of the athletes who will carry the national flags during the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics is 22 years 11 months and 3 days.

Opossum. The picture you posted is an opossum, as is what the article is probably referring to.

These are possums.

Just a nitpick of mine.

A fucking 8 foot tall primate living in the forests of the USA. THAT is what we are talking about.

Why is it that UFOs and Bigfoots and all that crap always have to be in the US anyway? Why can't the damn Loch Ness monster be in a lake in Uganda or something? I guess they don't have Art Bell over there.

Plus, the guy in the conference video looks like he is lying. I can tell by his expression!

And they say they were miles off the road but then brought a truck to take the body?

Whatever man.

I would believe the sasquash stories in Tibet could be true, maybe exaggerated but true, but this thing? It's fake. I don't know why they would bother to ridicule themselves like that, viral marketing I guess:p

Not saying that Bigfoot is for real, but Loch Ness is in Scotland.

I'm not saying this Bigfoot thing is real, just that there's a lot out there that still hasn't been discovered.

:lol :lol :lol

Yeah, Loch Ness was made up here in the US. Wow some of you are so ignorant. At least get the facts right. Loch Ness monster or bigfoot aren't real to me because they haven't been proven, nor have they been proven not to exist, but is it really that big of a deal if it turns out to be true? What's so far-fetched about it? All we're talking about here is a gorilla with human characteristics. Maybe a more evolved monkey. Doesn't seem out of this world, nor would I be amazed if it ever turns out to be true.

Call me when we're contacted by a more advanced alien civilization.

Not to mention, Bigfoot isn't a "US" thing. The Sasquatch myth predates European settlers, and similar myths exist in many places all over the world.

Supposed UFO sightings aren't exclusive to the US either.

Every country in the world has crazy stuff like that, you just never heard of it.

The Loch Ness monster is situated in Scotland, by the way. Which is a land that's stuffed with such tales.

I remember hearing some stories of monsters in the Congo - too lazy to search right now. Every culture has its own legends and such though.

And this guy Biscardi already has a pretty much useless reputation, as I believe he tried pulling a similar hoax back in 05 or something like that according to the BFRO. If the "researchers" in the BFRO, who want to believe in Bigfoot more than anyone, call this guy a fraud, it's a pretty good indication that this story is bullshit. And did anyone actually watch the youtube confession with the two guys who claimed to have discovered the thing? They come off as complete douchebags. I'm really surprised ppl at GAF are still even debating the authenticity of this.

And a random thought - if the "creatures" were to exist, they would likely be much smarter than we usually think of them. The Native Americans have stories that the Sasquatch are actually a lost tribe that shunned human civilization. If they are that intelligent and at the same time that feral, they might bury their dead, which would explain the lack of dead carcasses lying around. This is just a big "what if" though. Food for thought.

food for thought indeed ***rubs chin***

The monster of the Congo is the Mokèlé-mbèmbé.

They even made of movie based on it in 1985 called Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend.

They can't be worse than opossums. I've had to get those fuckers out of my attic on more than one occasion. Adaptable little shits, but I'd expect nothing less from something that's been around since possibly the Cretaceous and been contemporary with non-avian dinosaurs.

I know it's been pointed out but dammit Ether Snake I want to slap you right in the face for this. Really? Your arguments are usually so well put together.

This is real.. cant wait for the DNA evidence and solid proof for all the naysayers..so they can simply stfu and believe lol..seriously, this is real.

Yes the Congo Rainforest, one of the least explored places on earth, has its own version of a Lock Ness Monster in the mokele-mbembe, among other legends.

I believe this story about as much as the next guy here, but that doesnt mean that we should speak with the ignorance/arrogance that we know everything in terms of discovering new animals, not every place in the world is as well discovered as the town you live in.

Video of one who found it and said more was watching him I think + he sounds truthful imo.

Oh my..this is like a textbook example on how to tell if people are lying. He is stammerng through whole thing...nearly smirking at points. The best, however, is at the 1:50 mark when he is anwering a question about DNA evidence.

"Ummmmm...well we are waiting on that to come back...err as far as I....I guess Tom has them back. Ummm....as far as I know its gonna come back as some type of uhhhh.....what it looks like to me is a human-ape like creature."

:lol :lol

Also, if you had told me nothing about this story...I would have guessed that the guy was from Georgia based on his attire alone.

edit: Interesting threads...
