Bill Browder's prepared statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee - must read

He was trying to discredit the dossier because of the association with a Pro-Russia company. But this seems weird to me, because wasnt the OPPO started by like Jeb, and then Steele continued on his own? This would be implying Steele was paid for by the Russians and influenced that way.
If he wanted to do that, I don't think he would have allowed Browder to clearly say that Russia would have no issue with playing both sides. Granted he did have an odd silly tone to his questioning.

What amazes me the most about this entire ordeal is how much power the United States have over Russia and Putin. I'm sure Hillary or any other Democrat would have use the act as leverage against Putin which is why he was so dead set on tampering with the election.

It's also no wonder he wanted someone compromised like Trump who would also benefit from this act being repealed. Now I just I wonder if that orange idiot even knows how much power he technically has over Putin.

We need to spread this to other threads. 7 pages for this is laughable. Some mod make the clickbaitiest headline please. Like holy shit.

I don't think it matters how much possible power he has because Putin may have blackmail material and most importantly Trump business depends on the crooked system. Trump is still in their pocket.

I do wish he had provided more details of how the "$200 billion" figure is arrived at for Putin's personal wealth.

I know he did mention that Putin allegedly takes a 50% cut, but how does that cut get transferred to Putin (more than likely through shell companies) and what are examples of Western assets that Putin owns?

It seriously need a bit more of a clickbait title like "The truth between Putin and Trump!" because I'm sure the majority of people don't know who Bill Browder even is in the first place.

It's just fun to think about an scenario where someone on his pocket like Trump wasn't the current president. Seriously, the election last year now looks like a big diplomatic waste considering the US held all the cards against Russia.

Listening to the NPR show, the detail that really strikes me is how Putin managed to use anti-corruption efforts to bring to heel the oligarchs and assert power by making examples. It's basically Maranzano bringing the Five Families together. He's probably the biggest mobster in the world.

Off topic, but I wonder if Xi Xinping in China is trying to do the same thing. Though the Chinese economy is different from Russia's, so who knows how that would shape up.

I've half-joked before that Putin was a James Bond villain. Little did I know that he was so much of a real life Bond villain that if they added him in a movie people would be criticizing the writers for trying too hard.

Holy shit.

A tiny percentage will watch and absorb this versus alex jones screaming about some garbage.

Also it was interesting to see him basically state that enforcement of magintsky act is so weak that the oligarchs run rings around the authorities. And yet Russia is prepared to throw high profile spanners even into the electoral works to get it overturned? I think their efforts over the last few years are only partly about this toothless act. There is a much wider picture that putin is continually working.

I agree. I think Graham basically already knew the answer and he was leading Browder along to make the larger point. I like how Graham handled himself.

Saw CNN was covering this while I was at the gym. Looks like they'll be airing an interview with him as well. So hopefully that + whatever MSNBC does will get a lot of eyeballs on the testimony.

1/2 way into this... HOLY SHIT.

This is some crazy eye opening stuff, basically confirms what we suspected of Russia all along and really paints a bad picture on the Trump camp.

Fucking hell the Trumps are corrupt as hell.

How is this not ALL OVER NATIONAL TV!?

Scaramucci is more entertaining...I swear this world is doomed with peoples attention spans being close to 0.

This is honestly one of the most terrifying things I have ever read in my life. I am shaken, almost as much as last November.

This is the must read of must reads if ever there was one.

Wow this was really good, like a concise version of the senate hearing and article.

All of this stuff with Browder and Magnitsky needs to become public knowledge, needs to be seen and heard. It's practically the blueprint to all of the shit going on with Russia and their antics in the US election and motivations with Trump and his campaign.

Can we talk a little more about the fact that Putin is taking ill orphans as hostages?

and that "adoption" is actually a code word for sanctions talk. I remember the Russian saying thats what they talked about with Trump Jr, "adoption", and i was like, what?

But Scaramucci did some dumb interview and Hillary Clinton writes a book!

Holy shit you're right.

He doesn't care, and it makes us look like the bad guys.

Especially since it preys upon the nature of good people to take up the gaps in healthcare that the poor kids aren't gonna get in Russia.

Holy shit, it all makes sense. It'll be interesting to see how the arseholes in power react to this.

Thanks for the link OP

What's really alarming to me about this testimony is that it answers *so many* questions and inconsistencies that didn't make any sense before. I remember this exact same thing and my eyes lit up and I said omg irl and what not.

It's difficult for me to process but dear god at what Mueller and his team have likely been sorting through.

This is so fucked up. Some Americans had already saved a disabled boy/girl and were in the process of rescuing the little brother/sister when Putin cut them off and now these children are dead.

One interesting thing about Putin is that he always considers trends rather than incidents. The Magnitsky Act by itself isn't a big concern but it's a pivot that could wake up other governments to look closer at his regime's foreign assets and how they were accumulated.

The scale of pillaging by the Putin-backed oligarchs is unimaginable and they can only truly enjoy the spoils if international markets remain open to them. I don't think there's any historical precedent for money laundering operations of this magnitude - even the Drug Cartels haven't been able to get this much money out of their territory and into the real economy.

Pretty interesting timing for the administration to have its craziest and most unhinged week in months, huh.

The EU needs to seriously get it's act together with sanctions. They are being held hostage by natural gas, and what are they doing to fix their hostage situation?

Thread needs new title and updated original post. Seriously, this is the most important information to be made public since the Comey testimony IMO.

Tremis

This man does his research.
Put some ALL-CAPS in thread title because if it doesn't have the word Trump in it, it's going to be hard to get people in here to watch/read this.

navalny documented on YouTube, with his drone, the proxy property ownerships (inside and outside of Russia) of medvedev and obliquely indicated putin and others use the same methods to hold their insane wealth but the moment he more directly details putins corruption and starts to persuade regular Russians, he will be neutralized.

America could join with Europe and paint Russia as it is, a mob klepoctacy, or it could continue with trump and eventually become like Russia.

I watched this, and I shared it with everyone I know.

Why the fucking shit isn't anyone talking about it? What is HAPPENING? This was WAY more critical than the Comey testimony.

All I care about to be honest is that it's in the right hands. If this shit is PUBLIC, I wonder what the hell Mueller is sifting through. Some real shit. Probably the pee pee tapes.

This basically paints motive and reason for potential collusion, but doesnt make too direct connections that wasnt already known. To most people this just reads as 'Russia is pretty shit'.
