Just a heads up for anyone that cares.
Pitchfork gave his album a 6.4. Not that great, but I was expecting a 0.2 knowing them. :p

Bell Woods, stay out.

I'll tape it, but I hope he performs something other than "Walking Shade." I hate that song... "Mina Loy" would be mighty nice.

The record is out tomorrow, right? I'll have to pick it up.

Yeah, I think it comes out tomorrow.
I agree. Walking Shade sucks.
Oh well, we'll still see Linda Strawberry.

He played Mina Loy, rock. The bands sounds awesome. Corgan's guitar playing was great and his vocals seem to be improving.

My only complaint is that Linda was directly behind Corgan. :(

"New Wave rejects," haha. I believe the guy on the left used to be in Nine Inch Nails. Linda Strawberry is an independent singer/songwriter. The dude on the right is Matt Walker of Filter.

That was great... I need to see him.... his NYC shows still haven't sold out... *hmmm* what can I sell in order to get a ticket *hmmm*

I agree on the 'new wave rejects" front... I couldn't help but be reminded of the talent show episode of South Park:

Billy Corgan wants his Pumpkins back

Published June 21, 2005

Fresh on the heels of the release of his first solo album, "TheFutureEmbrace," Chicago rocker Billy Corgan says he's breathing new life into an old dream: The Smashing Pumpkins.

In a full-page advertisement in today's Chicago Tribune marking the release of the new CD, Corgan says, "For a year now I have walked around with a secret, a secret I chose to keep. But now I want you to be among the first to know that I have made plans to renew and revive The Smashing Pumpkins. I want my band back, and my songs, and my dreams."

The Smashing Pumpkins broke up in 2000 after playing a final gig at The Metro. The band racked up record sales (more than 25 million, with 1995's "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" selling 4.7 million in the U.S.) and critical acclaim (two Grammys and several nominations) in a relatively short time; their debut album, "Gish," was released in 1991.

The Pumpkins have a tumultuous history. The band's lineup included drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, guitarist James Iha, bassist D'Arcy Wretzky and Corgan; Wretzky left after recording "Machina" in 2000, with former Hole bassist Melissa auf der Maur filling her spot in the tour, and Corgan has blamed Iha in postings on his Web site for breaking up the band.

After the breakup, Corgan and Chamberlin put together the rock quintet Zwan, which imploded in 2003 after only one album.

"TheFutureEmbrace" is set for release Tuesday.

If SP got back together, I'd go insane.

I dunno. As much as I'd love for the band to get back together and put out another amazing album, with all the various people pissed off at each other at various times it's tough to believe they can peaceful get back together and get their groove back.

Best of luck though,

I'd love to see them get back together and tour again. As for them doing another album...well, I'd like to see them attempt it, but at the same time, if they didn't feel it was up to par ith the majority of other Pumpkins releases, I'd hope they'd...well Corgan, would have the decency to can it.

FUCK MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Yes. Now bands go to Mr. Smalls theatre, but it's like out in the middle of fucking nowhere.

That's a shame - although they didn't have a backstage which was lousy. When I saw Sunny Day Real Estate there nobody recognized the band - they were just hauling their own equipment in through the front of the building. I got to chat with them for about 10 minutes. Then after the concert they were practically mobbed trying to get out.
