Uh dudes, I have no idea what has gone on, but I haven't posted anything on PGC since my last review (which was Paper Mario RPG). I've been on a bit of a holiday, as it were.

So while I go and sort this crap out (and read the thread) I can tell you right now two things:

a) I haven't posted anything on PGC, in anyone's name let alone my own

b) I haven't even played Biohazard 4 yet

I can say that this was not planned or approved by me in any way. I did not know anything about it until a reader emailed me asking about it. As far as I know, he and CVXFREAK are the only people to have seen this, although he mentioned some other readers being puzzled by it. To my knowledge, none of that information is true. We do not even have a version of the game other than the publicly available demo discs.

Considering the lack of evidence on our server, including the fact that there is no Talkback thread for this news story (which is automatically generated when news is posted at PGC), I am not sure what to think about this whole thing. Either we have been hacked by someone who is very familiar with the site's structure and inner workings (or figured it out very quickly), or this is some kind of prank being played on US. If anyone has screenshots, cached page information, URLs, or other evidence of this article's existence, please PM or email me.

Yes, we are now fairly certain that this was a hoax being played on RE4 fans and on PGC. The PGC preview URL being passed around never existed at all. If you ever see something weird like this, please contact me to get an official word on the issue. If we did post something and did delete it for whatever reason, I will be glad to explain the circumstances. However, that happens very rarely.
