I'll install it for the free games. I don't get the crying over this shit. Don't get me wrong, I like how Steam is set up and like the community stuff, but I spend 99% of my fucking time on there PLAYING THE GAME, I just don't spend or care that much about the overlay and other features enough to buy or not buy a game based on it. So I'd worry about DRM or certain online stuff if its a MP game or something, but most of what I buy is single player anyway.

true, but the free games is the only thing I use the Epic store for personally, because I refuse to support a PC store that doesn't have family sharing (not even on the exact same PC)
I only buy games on the Microsoft Store, Steam and GoG, because all of these have family sharing.
so that is my reason to never buy from the epic store... or Origin and Ubisoft Connect or whatever that is called now.

Furthermore, you're missing the point, and it's more than just Bioshock being put out by Epic - it's the theme of high quality releases on a free service (EGS) vs low quality on a paid (GWG XBL).

I've been attempting to play the first one for a few hours now and no matter what I do, including following the PC gaming Wiki, I cannot get the frame rate to stabilze with this game.
In the wiki they mention changing settings in the ini files, but here's the problem. In the EGS version, these files DO NOT EXIST! There is no BioshockHD folder in the appdata folders. Which makes tweaking the elusive Bioshock.ini impossible to edit.
I've even tried running a search for this file, but windows just cannot find it. I don't know what 2k did, but the EGS version is somehow the worst version.

Why end on that studio acquisition line? The games you list show that it's not needed.
I hate studios getting bought by platform holders. If Sony buy a studio I know I might have to wait a couple years for PC versions.
I'm so glad that Embracer nicked Eidos, Crystal Dynamics and Tomb Raider.

Definitely a great catch, especially for those who haven't played them.
First two were great and Infinite was ok for a playthrough but was a bit eh compared to the other two.

Loved Bioshock 1 and 2. Infinite was a bit of a disappointment but still worth playing if only for the buried at sea DLC. Kind of surprising we haven't had a new game in the series. Bioshock 2 showed that another studio could deliver a solid game in the series.

I replayed Infinite a couple years ago, and it was much better than I initially thought it was. It's better than a lot of other FPS games out there.

Its really laughable for those that have some agenda against EPIC so therefore they wont install anything to do with them even though you get a shit ton of free games. I havent paid a cent to Epic, actually I dont even have a PC but a MAC so most of these arent even playable for me but why the fuck would i not make a library of games at no cost for maybe one day or maybe never. Anyone thinking how they stuck it to the man or whaatever reason is for not just clicking on the free game, you guys are beyond saving. I swear everyone nowadays has some agenda and think by signing petitions, or not sharing your email with a service, that somehow you are changing the world. Dont worry, since 2008 FB has all your info, sleep easy and stop pretending you are off the grid.

Trilogy was pretty good. 1st game has the best atmosphere and story with a cool twist if you haven't spoiled it for yourself.
2nd game had the best gameplay of the 3 and some great dlc as well.
3rd game was the weakest by far, has a few cool set pieces though.
As a spiritual successor to System Shock they failed rather miserably, Prey and Dishonored were much better in that regard.

Anyone else have problem with the sound with games on the EGS ? I was playing Redout and the sound cuts out every 10 seconds or so!

Because the big devs like EA or Capcom just don't do console exclusives anymore. There are two options, shitty timed exclusives or real exclusives. The real exclusives come with owning the IP and studios.
I loved seeing the different games on different consoles. Do you really want a world where 99% of games released are on all consoles and maybe one or two first party exclusives a year on each? Fuck that.
Take me back to when Sony PS1 and Sega Saturn had totally different game catalogues, where there was a different feel between the two. Back them maybe 30% of games were multiplatform.

So yeah… I literally missed that whole diverse catalogue of games Saturn had.
That's why I don't want exclusives. I have all platforms now but it would be nice to not have to spend $1500 for console hardware every 7 years + another $1000 for midgen refreshes in the middle. It's almost as expensive as PC gaming if you want to have access to all games. And all my friends only have one console so I see the downsides of exclusives all the time.
