I'm in it for the long term as well. I've only got a few hundred in so far but I plan to keep plugging in $50/month or so. Once BTC & ETH are more common among merchants, I might spend then. Most likely, I'll hit until retirement to start spending. Hopefully there are better tax laws around crypto by then.600€ I put a few months back in ETH doubled, since I already considered this money pure gambling I will just park it and let it sit, maybe I will get a nice sum in 10 years, from my simple understanding ETH looks to have many application while BTC price is being driven by a fixed supply i.e. there is a finite amount of coins to mine in the world.

So what are the taxes in France? In Poland it's 19% with an extra 8% above 250k PLN from next year (yearly income). Which sounds high, but that's around 50-55k EUR...Me living in France be like:
They probably fall into capital gains tax which is 17% + 13% of social charges. The social charges are actually waived under certain conditions and investment instruments, but AFAIK not one of them has crypto as a possible investment. So what are the taxes in France? Where do you live? Some places have a limited choise of markets.I would like to get into some Crypto for fun. What is a legit place to go for recommendations? Also do you guys use a app? What is the easiest way for me to buy and sell? I appreciate any advice.
I live in USA. Pennsylvania if the state matters.Where do you live? Some places have a limited choise of markets.
I (EU) use coinbase (pro). Easy account creation, easy verification. I mostly trade mobile, but they also have a good desktop site and layout.

Yeah, getting destroyed, only put a chunk in hoping for Kraken listing to pump but seems that was a fucking troll. Is it worth holding or should we accept Shiba is a deceased parrot? It looks like the whales started liquidating Shiba.
The Kraken listing might still be happening, but it should happen soon before word spreads around and everybody starts selling.Yeah, getting destroyed, only put a chunk in hoping for Kraken listing to pump but seems that was a fucking troll. I'd say the real whales are buying right now. I don't think this is the end for Shiba. People said the same when Doge started getting traction.Yeah, getting destroyed, only put a chunk in hoping for Kraken listing to pump but seems that was a fucking troll. This is the dip.I need prices to drop so I can pump more money in.
You can actually earn free crypto by learning about it on Coin Base. You just watch some videos and are rewarded with Bitcoin, Polkadot, etc. If you use my referral link we both get free stuff as well but don't feel you have to.As someone really new in this space, this is just insane for me to get my head around and I'm a fairly technical dude (I work in DevOps) -- Back when I started reading about this BTC was the only coin in the market (I believe) but now there's all sorts of coins, NFTs, NFT gaming, "art", and for me it's all so ridiculous but hey, I'd like to try my luck I guess. So is there a 101 somewhere, maybe from a post in this thread that I can read to try to make sense on all of this?
What would you buy if you have 100$ to throw around now?
Yeah it was difficult for me as well. I won't lie, i still don't understand most of it.As someone really new in this space, this is just insane for me to get my head around and I'm a fairly technical dude (I work in DevOps) -- Back when I started reading about this BTC was the only coin in the market (I believe) but now there's all sorts of coins, NFTs, NFT gaming, "art", and for me it's all so ridiculous but hey, I'd like to try my luck I guess. I do believe that NFTs are the future. Realy owning something digitally might be an abstract concept for most, but this is for the next generation. It will be huge.
I also like Brave with their BAT tokens you get for watching ads. You can use that "money" to tip websites, content creators. It's not much but you do get a share of the ad you just watched. And the ads are really basic: crypto, markets, ledgers, some digital conferences. No azon or hot milfs shit.
It's abstract, but digital ownage will be a thing of tomorrow.I just don't get where's the value in "owning" a piece of digital thing, like a picture. So yeah, for example if you buy the equivalent of the Mona Lisa in NFT art, can't you just... you know, screenshot the file and also have a pretty good "copy" of it? Well, I guess you won't get access to the original file which would be the best quality, but yeah, I don't fucking get it hahaha.

Funny and frustrating thing happened when I first bought Iotex back in August after first high. There was network issues and I thought first transaction didn’t go through, so I tried to buy again. I got network error both times. Few mins later it says 2 x $200 transactions. I was pissed but i just shrug it off and just decide to let it ride.Last month: I should buy Iotex.
Yesterday: I should buy Iotex.
Today: Iotex +250%.
Yeah,, how coild i forget about the most important points the more you trade, the lower the fees.I jus

Big mistakeCut losses on Shib. I know I should hold and not expect a recovery in days but it's free falling so fast, cut losses and put into bitcoin (seems the only fundamentally sound thing I have bought).
you guys might want to look into portugal. they just recently introduced crypto friendly tax lawsSo what are the taxes in France? In Poland it's 19% with an extra 8% above 250k PLN from next year (yearly income). Which sounds high, but that's around 50-55k EUR...
hope is not a strategy if you ask me . You are speculating if you don't know a purpose for the coin.I am holding onto Shib and hope
If you want to invest in a know crypto then research the biggest players, if you want to invest a "startup", then it's a realy deep learning curve. Not all ideas will be successfulJust getting into investing in crypto and had no idea there were this many options available. A bit over whelming starting out but better late then never .
Question for those that have been in the game awhile. Is it better to focus on the top 100 cryptos or research for better options outside that?
Always Dyor. My suggestion is to find coins that have great staking %. Also make sure you set goals. Short or long term goals. If you meet goals such as making 3 or 5x gains cash out and take profits. Most who wait 10x on 1 coin hardly meet such goals. Keep goals realistic and most of all, be patient. Patience is key. Bitcoin may go up to 100k. It can also drop down to 30k again. Always be patient with drops. Never sell at a huge loss. Always hold until you make profits. And know crypto is volatile as heck. With that said, also protect your passwords and get wallets to store crypto. Digital wallets for staking and physical wallet, once you build up lots of money.Just getting into investing in crypto and had no idea there were this many options available. Shib up 25% today. It's just my luck.Big mistake
Thanks for the info. Definitely looking to split short/long term into 30/70 with a reasonable starting amount. Everyone wants to “Go to the Moon! “ on everything but I’ll be happy with 20-30% gains in a year .Always Dyor. My suggestion is to find coins that have great staking %. Also make sure you set goals. Why not go into coins that have a purpose like ethereum / solana etc. Games are being build on it. $SAND might be interesting ( check: https://gamingindustry247.com/nft-gaming-firm-the-sandbox-raises-93m-round-led-by-softbank/)
There is big money coming into the gaming space. If the coins move up is not guaranteed but at least you have a purpose and backing from big Investors
It always bounce backSHIB is available on Coinbase for us New Yorkers so I converted a small bit. Probably silly at this point but I'm curious if it will bounce back.
