I don't think it's nationality, but each one has different ranges of looks including face and body shape.
You can pump up the arms on a Ninja further than a Striker can go, for example. I don't know about females but I think some of the classes are elves?
This is also why templates and saved looks can't be loaded on different classes.
I break shit all the time in the game. Doesn't even phase me anymore. Its like dropping millions of souls in Dark Souls and then accidentally walking off a cliff. You just learn to "Oh well"
It is also not even the worst upgrade system I've tried. I remember trying to get a +13 weapon in one game, you needed a gem (cash shop or exceptionally rare boss drop, worth millions in auction house) and a sacrificial +12. Failing can result in the loss of everything.
Tamer has her own thing with the child/small frame.
Ranger and Dark Knight are elves.
Berserker is currently the only Giant.
Some customisation is locked to each class. I believe Wizard has better options for appearing old for example. Skin colour and such though is pretty universally changeable.

I just meant like I have the auto run and put away weapon buttons bound to my mouse extra buttons. Goofy that that doesn't go between characters.

Got booted out of the Olvia servers today. Is it just me or is the lag worse on the normal servers?

I'm not sure though I read that you can get it gifted to you in some regions but I'm not sure on details or if there are any restrictions.
Yeah, I just went with binding my extra mouse buttons those keys instead of doing it from the game.
It seems to vary server to server but also changes daily it seems. Kind of annoying.

- A new PvE style hordemode / Arena is being added in Korea; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF32IMzCy6k < A team of player fights against mobs meanwhile they build fortifications. Pretty good idea as horde mode is a good fit for a game like BDO. The game is based around efficiency so it makes sense to make game modes that revolve around a good players abillity to kill fast and chain combos effortlessly.
- The soft cap is being raised to 60 in Korea. They are still toying with the value, but it seems we can expect to get 20-25% more xp per level up until lvl 60: http://bbs.black.game.daum.net/gaia/do/black/update/read?articleId=495&pageIndex=1&bbsId=BDN002 < This is a good change and it reaffirms that there is no point in this game to try and catch up. You will never catch up, so just enjoy your own progress in your own pace.
a lot of good (almost required) awakening skills are locked to atleast level 58, and leveling past 56 is HARSH (I mean, not lvl 60 0,2%/hour harsh but still). Makes sense that they're tweaking 56 to 60 IMO.
Horde mode sounds fun, but a missed oportunity that it doesn't give EXP, it would help a lot with the current situation of everything being overcamped. Seems like the money is decent though.
I do wonder about the gear requirements, especially when the community can be so anal about AP levels. BDO community isn't used to PvE coop and its pretty "antisocial" IMO.

Seriously, when the new patch arrived everyone was "wow a huge difference, grinding is way easier now".... and I get friggin 7% exp in 1 hour with buff at 56 lol
That seems a bit off. Where are you grinding and how fast are you clearing? If you can't clear fast enough see if you can piggy back off a group or stronger player.
Mind you this is week days, but I guess I'm not eficient. I'm doing Elric because well, Sausans lol
This is with the Ranger with DUO weapon, didn't try the Sorc with the TRI one. I'm using my Ranger lately to come in peace with her awakening, starting to feel comfortable with it now that I know how to play it a little better. I'll probably try to upgrade to TRI weapon.
I'm still not being able to get accesories from the marketplace. I'm gonna have to give it and go through the failstack mess...
I'm having good success at Bashims.
I think I need a lil better gear for that. Could do well enough with Sorc but not with Ranger.
I wish all awakening skills would be unlocked at 56

First of all, block all global chats, or atleast the RP Chat if you don't want to get your chat filled with memes.
Be sure you enter Olvia channels. They are channels for newcomers.
Try to talk with every named NPC's you see once (exclamation? icon in their head). Discovering named NPCs give you Energy exp, energy is used for various lifeskilling things.
Do your black spirit quests, they will took you around the world and will give you inventory slots, and also contribution exp (another thing used for when you're doing your workers stuff).
Dont' stress you out on doing all the NPCs quest, they never end lol
If you want some money, fish You can put your character to AFK fish when you go outside or do some other stuff. Velia's city shore is a good spot. Where you see a lot of people in one spot fishing it's because there's a hotspot. Plant your character there to fish (there's a fishing rod vendor there) and sell the fish to a trader NPC (only to traders).
When you reach Velia look how to get a worker and put him to farm potatoes.
Weight is annoying. Dump your silver into storage. Don't keep too many potions or don't carry any at all if you don't use them. Talk to NPCs with icons in new towns. This adds knowledge to your account. You don't have to worry about taking their quests or doing the conversation minigame at this stage, just a greeting is enough.
Enjoy feeling over powered and unstoppable for the first 50 levels or so in PvE. Some say it is a bit boring, others like myself find it pretty relaxing. There are difficulty spikes and gear gates later.
Take your time and experiment. Ask questions.
If you need some kind of service (potions, smith, stables) there is an NPC button near the minimap on the upper right of the screen. It can set a waypoint to the nearest service provider for you.

I honestly want more. Valencia's main story ended in a shitty sidequest chapter.
It really doesn't matter anymore. That was more important before the major merge happened. Now all that matters is new players and returning players get access to Olvia channels.
I have yet to finish Valencia part 2. Left it half way because I found it so annoying. I was in a quest where I suposedly had to use a shovel in the middle of the desert, but it didn't appear where, yet seeing someone on Youtube there was a mark in his map.
I was thinking on replaying part 1 for the second ring, instead of finishing part 2...
I'm pretty sure they have fixed that quest to make it less of a headache. Either that, or they fixed it in KR and we are getting it soon.

Rather than "servers", they are referred to as "channels", which I think gets their purpose across a little bit better. You can hop from one channel to any other at any given moment with a 15 minute cooldown between jumps.
The NA Gaf guild's main channel currently is Serendia2 and we host our guild missions there, but other than that people play on the channel of their choosing.
For you as a new player, access to the Olvia channels means you get +100% combat experience 24 hours a day. So outside of guild activities, you should definitely play there as long as you can.

Really strange issue happening right now.
The game was running fine yesterday but when I started the launcher today it said that there was an error trying to download a file "492.pap" and to contact customer support if the issue persists.
This comes up everytime i start the launcher now.

Edit. I get the same error on the launcher. I assume it'll fix itself once maintenance is over.

Technically speaking, fishing in the deep ocean has a reduced auto-fishing timer and a higher frequency of blue and golds compared to other standard water bodies. So if you are levelling fishing by afk means, then yes.

I reached Artisan on gathering (and processing), but doesn't feel like it's any different, other than energy usage, still same low % drops and basically the same drops. Doesn't look to be very profitable on it's own.
