Black Friday 2012 |OT| **What do you mean Minimum of 5 at every location?**

Just went to Walmart.

What a cesspool of *#*#&@*@#*. The video game section was being handled by one guy who has key to the locked cabinet. The line wrapped around multiple sections and each person gets to ask the guy what he wants and he grabs it from the cabinet and hands it to you.

Here's hoping Amazon or Best Buy matches some of the prices.

What's the likelihood of BB's Toshiba TV being available online come 12 PST?

At mine the cases were just open to take what you want to the front.

I get why other locations didnt do that, I'm a pretty honest person and even I contemplated some things for a brief second.

Picked up a few blurays for 4 each and

Gt5
Ratchet collection
Sly collection
Batman arkham asylum
LBP karting

For $83

Not sure if I really want the last one but seemed like to good a deal to pass up. It was Walmart and they were excellent. In and out in minutes. Much better than Target and TRU which had lines for at least an hour

At my Walmart they had some pallet type things wrapped in plastic and when it was time people just ripped into it.

I hope the Vita sells well enough this holiday. It seems like a really great handheld and would be a shame if it just dies out with a wimper. $199 bundle seems like a decent deal to me, they should have really pushed it with marketing.

Scored all the early sellout stuff I missed at Walmart by trolling through returns. Found it all. They even brought it to me! Muwhahaha!

Same. Also got mauled getting the dual screen portable DVD player.

That's fucked up, it should be a limit of 1 per person.

Technically they did. It just depends on if the manager counts the two children as people or not.

I went to a console launch at Wal Mart once were a guy said that his two kids wanted a console too. The manager said "Give me a break. One per family." and walked off.

Now to see if the 3d displays will ever restock for $100, doesn't get any cheaper than that. Even if they might break D:

Edit: I changed my mind, I want a $40 gold controller!

You're calling for 1 per family, which gets really muddy, really quick.

Not easily enforceable for all deals but come on......a child should not be able to purchase electronics that cost hundreds of dollars. The problem would be largely solved by no longer allowing kids to buy the doorbuster stuff.

I feel that a parent shouldn't even be taking their kids to stores with that much unpredictable chaos.. And especially at midnight, the kid should be in bed.

Bu..but my child likes paying for things himself. He feels horrible if he doesnt hand you the money himself!

Yes, I have actually heard that one (or variation) before. But usually it is on a small item on a regular day. Not crazy night.

I worked as a night stocker in grocery stores when I was younger and you would regulary see idiots with thier kids out in the middle of the night.

I'm waiting for the inevitable news story of an employee tragically dying on BF. Anything yet?

Edit: we were gonna go out with our son to Wal Mart tonight but since I got everything online no need and people were trying to talk us out of it as well. Glad we didn't.

I finally found a deal on a projector. Then I looked up how much replacement bulbs cost, and they're $500 a piece. The bulbs only have a halflife (to mid-brightness) of like 1000 hours ><.

Next.

Also, fuck JVC

I heard something about a fistfight at K-Mart over sold out TV's. That's close.

Man Walmart was chaos. I wonder how bad Best Buy is going to be.

Best Buy is generally very well organized for Black Friday. Most stores (least in the Denver area) prep their people well and the crowds are managed with efficiency, unlike places like Walmart and Target that are general free for alls.

no line and sealed pallet inside the store is horrible. it was 10 mins to 8pm shit went flying.

I saw videogames getting stolen. Opened cases of videogames with disc missing.

Fuck Walmart, it is their fault they are getting stolen from since they still haven't figured out how to make things more orderly.

Drove by the one in Boulder on my way back from Thanksgiving. It was ~8:00 and there were already about 20 people lined up out front.

So the 60inch Vizo at Wal-Mart is a thing of myth I'm guessing? Has anyone actually seen one out?

I was gonna go in the morning to see if there were any left, I'm guessing that would be a fools errand.

Definitely. Get sleep instead. Blood have already been shed for those TV's long time ago.

There isn't a single game console deal @ the B&M that you couldn't get online.

This kinda behavior makes zero sense in a post 1995 world.

Baffling.
I know. But some people still don't have internet. Shocking huh? And online gotta deal with shipping costs and have to wait to get it. Some people rather venture out and get their grubby little fingers on it so they have it right then and there.
