Just take the drive out of the external enclosure. It's an "internal" hdd in there. You just can't be picky about the model you end up with.

Me too. Saw lots of Seagate drives, but don't want to buy them.

I just gave up and bought a 1 TB WD Blue for $50 off Newegg today.

Just take the drive out of the external enclosure. It's an "internal" hdd in there. You just can't be picky about the model you end up with.

I heard WD external drives are soldered to the USB controller board now, or the USB controller is integrated into the hard drive (with no SATA), so WD externals can't be used as cheap internals anymore.

But that might only be true with the 2.5" ones...

VIZIO SB4051-C0 40-Inch 5.1 Channel Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers (2015 Model)

or


Sony HTCT380 300W 2.1 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer

Both are about the same cost. 5.1 would be nice, but not an absolute must have, while I really like the HDMI switching on that Sony soundbar.

Should I buy now, or wait till the holidays?
