Because the MMS can only detect stationary targets and it decreases weapon accuracy.

If I don't care about physical goodies like books or figures or whatever, and I don't care about skins and the like, what exactly am I getting with the Hardened Edition over a regular preorder?

As far as I can can tell, I get two digital coins (I don't know what these do) and the zombies nuketown map. Anything else?

How does zombies mode work exactly? Does it play on the normal maps? Also, what do the coins do?

Sorry, haven't played CoD since 4. Thanks

Do all first run copies get Nuketown 2025 or is it just pre-order copies from Amazon, GameStop, Walmart etc.?

I want to order from the MS store to get the free 1600 points - but I love me some Nuketown.

EDIT: Looked on the previous page and found the answer: "all first run copies get Nuketown 2025"

Well that sucks, why does MS get a say in that anyhow?

I don't know if that's actually true regarding the full game download on PSN. But at least for past years, Microsoft has had timed exclusivity on the DLC on 360, so that might be why. I can't remember if that deal expired last year or this year though, so going forward that could potentially change.

Moneyhats.

They are paying money to Activision for DLC, having it say 360 at the end of commercials, blah blah.

I'm not surprised that PSN isn't allowed to have it day 1.

So the DLC deal extends to Day 1 game downloads? Was Sony even doing Day 1 downloads when that deal was made?

In regards to the new matchmaking going off of internet quality/ping and whatnot instead of region can someone with more knowledge help me out on this.

I have really fast internet, my brother has shit internet. He joins my party. I search for a game to put us in. Will it try and find a good connection based off mine or shitty based off his...or somewhere in between?

Probably won't get renewed. It's mission accomplished for MS. COD is seen as franchise primarily on the 360. They don't need to convince people anymore.

The deal is the reason why I didn't buy Elite for MW3. You're telling me to pay $50 for a "premium" service but I'm still treated as a secondhand customer when you release maps.

Hope they release the same for all systems, but I won't be surprised if the 360 gets them a month early again.

The deal for exclusive DLC and marketing between Microsoft and Activision for Call of Duty was renewed this summer, Black Ops 2 content will arrive first on 360.

What the deal exactly encompasses is unknown, such contracts are kept private and not for the public to see. Prohibiting day one digital downloads on competing platforms would likely be part of such deals.

So did they DO anything to Nukedown? Exand? Make bigger?

Or just a fresh coat of paint?

Looks awesome, I just hate all the nade spam.

Ok, I pre-ordered at Gamestop. Got the Nuketown 2025 code on receipt. I followed the instructions www.gamestop.com/code to redeem. I click the redeem code button and it just brings me to a pre-order page. Has anyone tried it yet? Maybe it just isnt ready yet?

thanks.

It'd be just the Nuketown Zombies map; the coins are physical coins with the DLC codes for the maps, skins, and OST etched on. Here's an unboxing video (Hardened has everything except the Care Package case and the Dragonfire):

Zombies is a hoard mode where you defend an area against waves of increasing numbers and strengths of zombies. It has it's own set of maps even though the WAW ones pulled a lot from MP levels and Nuketown Zombies'll probably use the original's as well.

Here's a vid of a couple dudes playing it (start at 8:10 if the link doesn't take you there):

It's kind of repetitive, randomized, and the zombie health escalates pretty fast so, unless you have friends that really enjoy the co-op, it might not be that great of a deal.

netBuff Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Microsoft and Activision have a solid business relationship. With Sony the PS3 is simply 'there' and will collect revenue regardless of the back-alley deals Microsoft has made. To give you an idea, despite the large outcry from fans and the media about the issues with the first Black Ops on PS3, it's still the best selling PS3 game to date.

I asked a few folks at CoD XP last year and they all but confirmed some stuff I've always suspected - No CoD avatars on PSN, Sony can't launch a bundle with the game until 6 months after the game releases, No PS3 themed CoD art whatsoever, no CoD trailers on PSN until after the game launches. The recent 3D deal with LG also seems super sketchy; I'm nearly fucking positive MS had some part in that.

Well, isn't this the last year of their supposed 3 year deal .. ? let's see if Sony can make any strides towards parity, or hell, exclusive deals of their own.

Nice, thanks!

I pre-ordered the game yesterday at Best Buy and the manager was cursing at the employee because he didn't take my email address for the preorder codes. I don't remember any of that from preorders in the past. WTF. Where do I get the code?

COD worldwide still sells better on 360.

Yes. On a conference call after Black Ops launched, one executive said it was a 55%-45% split worldwide, which is no where near "way" better in my opinion. That would fit if you are talking about the US, where X360 almost outsells PS3 2 to 1.
