Phasing is a technique that allows more than one version of the world to be present in a given place at a given time. For instance, one village in Northrend is inhabited by ghosts of the Valkyr. In the "normal" phase (the one you see when you first run through the village) you see present-day enemies doing normal enemy things: patrolling around, killing people, staring at the ground, etc. But when you start a certain quest and run into the village you seamlessly pass into a second "phase". Under these conditions all the normal enemies disappear (on your client) and you see memories from ancient Valkyr ghosts, which in this case tell a story.

The basic functionality can be used to do many things: Make NPCs appear only after you complete a quest, make enemies appear at certain times but not others, move structures and effects, and so forth. The important point is that phases can be confined to a certain area or object, they can be unique to one player or be shared by a whole group, and they can be triggered by player actions. Doing this they can approximate permanent changes to the game world for an individual character in response to your progression without abandoning the shared-world aspect of the game as a whole.
Battle of the Undercity is the best example if you ask me. You are actually "In" the undercity as Alliance during that quest, but no players are present unless they are on the same phase of the quest.

Is that going to work like Heroic Presence, benefiting everyone in a group/raid?

I disagree. I still think the game looks great, even on shitty computers thanks to the art style.

indeed, running it maxed out in the air at 1080p, northrend just looks awesome in some spots, sure it may not be bump mappping out the wazoo, but it just works so well whatever they are doing.

China bans the use of Pandarens, that's why they will never show up in WoW.
China also banned death knights in general and the idea that Pandaren are "banned" is a completely untrue rumor that's spread for ages.

It's not like the entire Frozen Throne game is banned there. The reason that China objected to the original Pandaren concept was that they considered it disrespectful that they were garbed as Japanese Samurai.

The Death Knight ban is why China doesn't have WotLK. I'm sure Blizzard doesn't want more holdups like this if they can be avoided.

"Make a goblin, when you want an engineer, but still want two other professions"

Sunken City is the entire Maelstrom, that place must be huge.

Want Pandaren but don't want them banned in China? Easy. Color them black or brown and call them Azerothian Kodiaks.

Reskinning a panda into a plain bear isn't hard guys.

Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in

I would love to contunie playing this but ffs the internet in my dorm is so crap I can't justfy 15€ a months for 2 days a week of playing

Nope. Blizzard is making a version without the Death Knight for them.

is undead some sorta sacred thing there now too or something?

its funny that they make up a 3rd of the player base but only 7% of wows total revenue...

Hyjal, Uldum, Vashj'r, Lost Isles (starting), Worgen (starting), Twilight Highlands (Grim Batol), Deepholm (Elemental plane, not in Azeroth, accessible through the rift in EK, leveling zone for 80 to 85).

Again, Pandaren aren't "banned" in China. The law you are speaking is against "disrespectful" use of the Giant Panda; they were upset at the Pandaren in the Frozen Throne being dressed in Japanese Samurai outfits, which they considered racially insensitive.

20 guild levels. Advancement through quests, raids, BGs, etc. Guild talent trees. Cheaper repairs, mass rezzes, etc.

Talent trees are not being extended. You'll get 5 more talent points though.

That's a bit of a disapointment.

Edit:

Paths of the Titans; players will choose which path to follow. Paths aren't limited by class.
It's pretty much a new talent system; adds new abilities and passive stuff.

Hrmm

51 point talents are still the max. Path of the Titans a new advancement, shared by all classes. Sounds like it'll allow classes to branch into others' territory too.

I can see why though. It's harder and harder to balance increasing numbers of talents.

Path of the Titans. New advancement. Sounds like minor secondary classes. Multiple paths are available to the same class, multiple classes may access the same path.
