I already had Blood Omen from the PLAYSTATION 3 (Spider-Man font) days and I can download the new release for free, thank you Embracer or whoever it is nowadays.

Both games have trophies with a platinum.

Go buy them kids.
Yes sir Mr RagnaroklV sir. Will do as soon as I finish work 👍

After the ambush at the start of Blood Omen, you’re supposed to get a story progress trophy. It seems to be bugged though.
All the other story progress and secrets found trophies unlock, just not the first story one.

Grabbed Blood Omen last month on PS3 in anticipation. Glad the free upgrade worked.
Looks ok. It's a 2D game, so there's not much improvement that can be done. Loading times seem a bit faster, but you still gotta deal with them any time you want to do pretty much anything.

Nice. Wish they were on switch, as remasters, especially the first game. I own it on psp/vita /ps3. Why aren't more ps1 games released? Like why is Capcom hoarding mega man legends games....and square vagrant story, parasite eve, etc... Grrr.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I hope with the remaster (and the fact it exceeded sales expectations) and along with this, it may mean actually getting a new game in the series.

Although in this current political and social atmosphere, I'm not sure I would trust a new game to be quite honest. Nonetheless it could still could be interesting.

I've said it many times over the years, if ever a game was deserving of a remake/remaster it's this one. Those loading screens again all these years later... it's killing me lol. But man this atmosphere, these voice actors, this *world*, it's truly top shelf stuff, can't wait to get lost in Nosgoth all over again.

I'm glad they're available for purchase, already bought Blood Omen. The second game is too pricy, gonna wait for a price drop.

Played up until arriving at Steinchencröe last night.

The raw pixels look bad, and the “visual presets” are laughably shit.

Seriously, something needs to be done. They need a good solution for crt simulation. CRT-Royale is so beautiful on my OLED that I haven’t bothered connecting up my CRT for over a year now. PlayStation absolutely must get something similar in place.

Yeah, playing on my tiny CRT in my bedroom when I was a kid and playing now on my big OLED as an adult is... a fascinating experience as far as the visuals are concerned lol. Still, this world is compelling, the VO is so damn good, I will grin and bear it, especially those epic load times 😄

Just bought BO2 purely for support if nothing else and man… that port is darn low ball. They basically just got the game working on the PS5. In the menu there is some mention of an “enhancement” but I’ll be damned if I see it.

I bought Blood Omen years ago on the Vita/PS3 store. But now it isn't free for me on PS5? I contacted playstation support and they told me, I have to be Premium Member to get it for free?! Is that right?
So I bought a game. And for Sony to remember that, I have to pay for their service?

Same situation for me. Really disappointing.

Which store region? My old purchase carried forward and I had it free.

I never finished BO, so I'll definitely give these a look.
BO has a brilliant atmos iirc.
I was going to grab it on Evercade but PlayStation seems a better fit.
Trophies are a fun addition too 😊

I wil tell you that I agree we need better CRT filters, no game provides quite what is needed.

A great CRT filter would be a boon for new 2D games too as it would allow you to tackle 2D art styles without worrying about scaling to sharp 4K displays.

I think if you can support native 4K rendering and HDR you should be able to convincingly render CRT filters without the screen being overly dark (thanks to ramping up brightness in the HDR rendered image) and having scanlines so thick you can cut with a knife and that do not give the right effect out.

Not sure how it could be done in BC titles easily (if you can do it in retroarch there might be a way for consoles emulators too), maybe the way Sony uprenders their PS2 BC titles (runs the same GPU pipeline N times with very subtle camera jitters and then merges the final image… this way you increase the resolution / detail in the final image without changing any of the buffers the game relies on rendering wise… great for PS2 titles where devs did some crazy stuff).

Germany here. Like I said, support said it would be free for me too - IF I buy a Premium membership...

When Resident Evil Dir. Cut was released, I could claim it for free because I already bought it on Vita...

I don't have any subscription, I'm not even on essential and I had it 'free' from my old PlayStation 3 purchase. That's frustrating, try checking on the app and web store in case it displays differently?

I too had RE free by the way through UK store.

Oh so that is why I was able to download it for free.

I got the game for free too due to buying it on PS3 a decade ago. I'm not a PS Plus subscriber either. Good on Sony for honoring their cross-buy policy.

Well well fucking well. Sony actually got an old game worth a shit out that I'd actually buy again

I'm impressed.

Same here, I wonder if I'll have the same issue 🤔

LOL. I'm struggling to see how current political agendas would affect a fantasy vampire series. Can we just stop with the fear mongering?

Finished Blood Omen (will mop up the remaining trophies another time) two nights ago and still thinking about it.

It's a really haunting game, the world so grim. The build up to the big last stand battle is great, poor Ottmar and the people of Willendorf. The Nemesis' Legion is terrifying.

I think the "good" ending is probably what Silicon Knights would have gone with as canon before CD took Kain from them. Kain does change towards the end, one line that sticks out is when, upon seeing a pillaged city, he says "This was once the most academic of cities, housing some of the most prestigious universities in all of Nosgoth. While I would not weep over lost tomes, I detested the sight of scars left upon the world at the hands of the Nemesis."

Their sequel would have focused on Vorador, so it'd (spoilers lol) presumably be a prequel which also leads me to think this.
