Bloodborne launch trailer

Welcome to NeoGAF OT title polls, where the choices are made up and the votes don't matter.

I like 70% of the offerings I see.

Now: I take it that last night's stream from Japan was uneventful?

Bloodborne ot: Bedknobs and boomsticks

I'm starting to really look forward to this game for some reason, despite not really being a huge souls fan. It just looks so damn stylish and atmospheric.

I think besides WOW, this is gonna be my next most played game.

PSO, and Pokemon Red both have over 200hours for me.

What does this even mean.

Say what?

I see, i guess you would have to experience more of these type of games to get a felling of what they are showing. Me being consumed by these games in the last few years, i see sublime beauty ready to be picked apart by my eyes. I would think this type of person you are talking about also wouldn

Pretty much. One can call it sublime beauty, and some can call it busy or overdesigned. Even in that screenshot, there's so much going on and so much random detail that it could be overwhelming to some people. Case in point, all of the branches on the dead tree on the left hand side, the infinite wrappings around the cleavers the character is wearing, the varying shapes and sizes and angles of the headstones, the height of the grass, the mountains in the near background, the random ruins on the sides of the path, etc etc. Typically people are used to something eye catching where the focus would be, and everything around works around that focal point, even in game design.

It's more of a style where there is no distinct or quickly discernible focal point, so people can easily get visually overwhelmed. Be that good, bad, or whatever is up to the person, of course. I don't feel it makes anyone right or wrong, it's just a thing. It's not a matter of Bloodborne looks too good, it's a matter of there's so much of it that quality doesn't even factor into the equation.

There's a certain artist/style that I know this game reminds me of but for the life of me I can't remember it. I should have paid more attention in my art history courses.

After watching the trailer,
I feel like that's pretty much how Castlevania should ended up looking.
Only played (a little) Demon Souls and pretty much skipped everything Dark.
This will be mine eventually.

This'll happen.
It is of course a joke, but the hype is too great

2/10 for being too good.

Cons:
I've become obsessed with this game.
My wife has left me.
Haven't seen sunlight in 16 weeks and counting.
My legs have shriveled away

Pros:
Game's difficulty has trained my fingers to be tiny fists.

Will have to pick this up.

I can't remember the source but it was a skit where the guy you see in the gif is taken somewhere by a driver the driver proceeds to get out of the car and you hear gunshots and the driver yelling then the guy in the gif is trying to get out before the driver comes back.

Sounds funny. I'll try to hunt for it.

Same predicament for me. I want a physical copy (the CE) for keeps, but I would love the easy access of Digital.

Yes is pretty much this. I find myself playing my digital games more because of the easy access. At the same time the physical copy would look so elegant on my collection.

Fuck it hard copy it is.

The first thing i thought of when seeing those trees was German expressionism.

It just sorta sunk in that this is coming out a week from this Tuesday. Holy shite. I'll preload and be there at midnight.
