Bloodborne launch trailer

It's not as fast as those games. Everything is like 1.5 the speed of souls game. Dodging and item use seems quicker than in past souls games.

We don't know much about builds in Bloodborne but for Demon's and Dark Souls, yes there are builds. If you like melee, you could go strength builds, dexterity builds or a tank build (was kind of OP at first because the game has some weapons that don't scale with stats, so you could go through the game without damage stats but still able to pump out some damage). Dexterity builds also had the option of going ranged with bows. Then there's magic builds. In DS1 there was Sorcery, Pyromancy and Miracles, Sorcery being the "Int" build that focused on damage, Pyromancy being a non-stat scaling spellcaster build that had limited charges but could be slotted into any build, Miracles scaling with Faith, being focused more on support / healing spells, but with some really strong, albeit limited, offensive spells.
Dark Souls 2 completely revamped spells though, by making pyromancy scale and adding in Hexes as a new spellcasting archetype, made up of spells such as the "Dark Magic" from DS1s Artorias of the Abyss expansion. Hexes scaled with the lowest out of your int or faith stats, meaning to use it effectively you needed to level both at the exact same rate. Pyromancy was given scaling as well, though it scales with BOTH int and faith, meaning it could be slotted into any spellcasting build.

However, Bloodborne doesn't seem to have any pure caster builds that we've seen. It has an "Arcane" state, that apparently some items scale with, however, we don't know what items there are and whether they're good enough to make a build around. There's a stat for gun damage called "Bloodtinge", so there's a good chance a gunslinger build is viable. Don't know how effective a pure tank build will be in Bloodborne as the armour has apparently been changed slightly due to platemail being silly in a Victorian setting. You could pump stats into health though, so there's definitely a way of doing it. Most build variety seems like it'll come from the choice of weapon and firearm that you play with though. Alas, we probably won't know until it's released.

Thanks all! Looking forward to it with excitement and nervousness. I usually don't go for hard games but for this game, I'm tellling myself "be the Batman" lol.

This has been my most anticipated game for some time. After watching that trailer, I took Thursday and Friday off the week this comes out, been quite awhile since I took some "gaming days off".

Can't wait, want it now!

Isn't it fascinating?

Developers all over the place have tried to chase and jump on the next trend-bandwagon for years now, trying to go after that broad market. "If we not sell 8 million copies on day 1 we are not profitable".

From and Miazaki has done the exact opposite, and built their own playerbase, fine tuned it, yet at the same time trying to broaden it with carefulness. And you know where they are now? , they are considerd by many people, not just gamers, to be one of the best and most influential developers out there.

Imagine a meeting where the top decisions makers, at a AAA studio said something like this..

"You know, we are gonna go against everything that's popular, trendy and cool, and we are gonna start a kind of own genre, be the market leader there, and just keep on delivering, and build our own playerbase and expanding it, yet at the same time be profitable and stay true to our roots"
 
Bloodborne seems different then the Souls games...seems more horror like Evil Within versus the RPG type of gameplay of Demons and Dark souls...still looks good but also looks different...the Van Helsing Victorian Era London environment adds to the horror atmosphere
