I just want to say, based on what I played so far, Bloodborne easily has the best level design in the entire Souls series. It's unbelievable how well put together Central Yharnam is, and Old Yharnam is nearly as good. And it's not just the layout that's amazing, the presentation is also wonderful. The entire
beastmen church
sequence in Old Yharnam gave me chills, especially when
the chanting stopped, leaving a silence punctuated by screams.

Same here. I never use my Blunderbuss, save for Hunters (good for getting a small reprieve while my stamina comes back).

I’m happy. I always main two-handed swords in Souls games.

Same here, about the only time I use the pistol is to get a parry in on bosses. Parrys make most of the bosses piss easy.

I got worried for a sec because
I horsed around wailed on the door in the sickroom and lady in their stopped talking to me. But when I want back later we were good apparently.

Tapping out. I literally can't do
Blood starved beast
. I watched a friend of mine win on his second attempt and haven't been able to do it in two days. I wish I hadn't bought this digital. Fucking done.

Pretty easy boss actually. Here's a hint that will make your fight against it (and lots of other enemies) much easier: Dodge diagonally to the right towards it, DO NOT dodge backwards. It will keep missing that way and you can get one or two easy hits in in the back.
The first two phases of the fight should be easy this way, the third is what's actually challenging. Remember to equip gear that gives you resistance against slow poison and keep antidotes ready. You can try and use one of the items that envelopes your weapon with fire (I'm blanking on the name right now) on the third phase since it's hard to get in hits so you want to make those hits count.

The third boss man...literally a few pixels away from death and then that poison shit. Tried to shoot him, but it was too late. Been trying to kill him without any throwables, but I guess I have to farm a little, because after the halfway point, every move is too damn risky.

At the H
emwick
bonfire and I'm out of vials and echoes. I don't mind farming for more vials, but I wish I found a better place for it that gave out more echoes... sick of that central.

Very lost here. I
Killed the Blood-Starved Beast, but I have no fucking idea where to go next. I know Vicar Amelia is supposed to be the next mandatory boss, but I can't find her at all in the Cathederal. Do I have to get her from the prison those bag enemies take you to, or did I really miss something?

For people who don't know where to go after the BSB.
I warped back to the cathedral and there was another door open that wasnt open earlier, go there. Also, you can buy that key from the messengers and it unlocks a gate in the cathedral area as well, thats where I'm currently making my way.

Is
Father Gasgione
meant to be the second boss or third? He was really goddamn hard for me.

His initial form is actually really easy to cheese if you have the whip, keep tombstones in between you and him and you can still hit him.

His beast form was giving me a ton of trouble, eventually I started breaking my lock every time he hit me and running away to heal.

I'm loving the game, I never got the hang of parrying in Dark Souls but I'm getting visceral attacks in all over the place, so satisfying.

I'm not sure, I got killed by some guy holding a bag outside of the area where you move the tombstone

I was wondering if that is the only way to get to him.

I think that
you could have bypassed the need for that key by using that door that just opened for you to go around the back way, and open the sealed door from the back.

He's the second.

OH SHIT! Something just occured to me..As I was going through the Forbidden Woods
I found a cave that I thought was the lair to a beast, but it came up in the Clinic's graveyard..just realized the shitload of bodies/bones in that massive cave must've been all her victims.

Yeah, it's really easy when he goes berserk on you. You just have to draw it out and be wary of his jump grab(Which happens when he looks at you with his eyes)

Just wish I even tried that. I still got through the first two phases easily by dodge forward through all his attacks and punishing from behind, but died a bunch to the last phase when I would panic over poison.

Just beat Father Gasgoigne on my second attempt. Heart racing battle. Interesting how much this games punishes passivity. You need to be very carefully aggressive

So I'm confused... Ludwig's Holy Blade says it scales with a B with Arcane, but when I put points into arcane it doesn't show my damage going up at all... Any idea why?

Does anyone know if Eileen spawns in another area besides the rafters if you've already progressed past that area? I forgot all about her and now I'm trying to find her but she's not in that side area and I have no idea where she is.

everyone talking about the BSB, i havent event found it yet. came to old yarnam from the cathedral location (save haven). no BSB in sight just yet...

One trick with him.
Running to the platform then dropping down. If you wait for him to drop after you its possible to sneak in a free hit.

What in the hell was
the giant hand than picked me up and slammed me into the ground
just outside of the Cathederal Ward lamppost? I thought I found some weird visual glitch at first.

Can I just play without waiting for the 3GB patch download to finish up first?

Such a bloody annoying thing if I am required to wait AGAIN before being able to play :/

second.

So I've been playing this game so far and I'm loving it, only beat the first two bosses, already a level 34 with strength softcapped and I'm looking at grinding a little more before continuing also really digging the rifle spear but for bosses I think I'll stick to my good ole saw cleaver.
