Vaati beginner's guide for those interested, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJxi_w6jwRg&hd=1
My two major problems with the game:
- the loading times, obviously (but that has been discussed to death)
- the fact that your blood vials don't get refilled at the bonfire-lantern thing/after death
Especially that last thing is getting really f***ing tedious and is spoiling my enjoyment of the game. I just died JUST before finishing a boss off, and had used up all of my blood vials. I've respawned now, with ZERO vials in my inventory. Zero. I have to buy some at the merchant in the Dream Area, but, oh wait, I have no blood left since I died. So, basically, every time you die, you have to grind blood to be able to buy your estu- ehr, blood vials to be able to continue the game normally.
(The irritation is exacerbated by the extra loading times of having to go back to the Dream World to buy the damn things as well.)
This is not adding difficulty; this is adding mindless grinding. Frustrating and, most importantly, not fun.
Great game otherwise, but this is making trying bosses somewhat depressing. The fear is not in not knowing how to tackle these behemoths, but in knowing that dying will mean boring grinding again. Blergh.
I did not expect all 20 of my blood vials to be refilled every time I die, but 10 would be nice (read: better and more fair game design). Or just 5, for f***'s sake.
P.S. Sometimes I DO regain a handful of vials upon death, which is weird. Does anyone know the logic behind this?
I appreciate the honesty. I think I will definitely just focus on stamina and vitality at the start and wait until there is a better understanding on the other stats.

So how is this for people who didn't get into the Souls games due to difficulty? Review scores have piqued my interests.
It was given to me by a certain lady. Both of them.
Did the first boss drop anything useful? Atheon just gave me an ugly ship the first time I beat him.
If you had 20 vials and kept earning more, the excess vials go straight into your stash, and you refill upon entering the hub (or touching a lantern as well?).
Stockpile health and ammo in your storage. When you die, it'll pull some from storage.
Wish they retained the Estus system. It was perfectly balanced.

I'm one of those people that never played a souls game and decided I might give Bloodborne a shot. What do you think it is that people will not expect?
I'm really pissed off about Amazon. Now I won't even get the preorder bonuses.
Did you have to equip those rings that you could purchase from the cat or something?
Ok, I need help finding something in the second area-
I'm in the same boat as you and I'm leaning towards passing.
It's a shame too because it sounds like a great game, but the last thing I want to do after a hard day of work is devote a ton of time trying to get past one section of a game.
I might play my brothers copy first and see how I like it...
is online up?
Same here, "guaranteed delivery date" my ass. Really disappointed.
AHHH, now I get it.
Still doesn't change the grindy nature of it all, thoughBlugh.
Any tips on regaining blood vials easily/quickly?

I'm someone who rolled with a Zweihander + Grass Crest shield in DS1 and a Greatsword in DS2.
I'm scared for how bad my ass is going to get kicked in a little bit.
I tried Dark Souls and hated it. I tried Dark Souls II and hated it also. And yet here I am, considering whether or not to get Bloodborne. GAF hype is real.
