Are there enemies that you can farm for the Madman Skulls early in the game?

I'm like one insight away from
unlocking the bell-selling merchant

I've noticed the two lycans on the bridge (before getting to Boss #1) tend to drop them.
There's also an easy way to cheese them once you open up the house shortcut.
I'll spoiler it just in case:

Just lure them down the stairs and duck into the open doorway of the house (with shotgun wheelchair guy). They can't get through the door- so you can swipe and back off, but be careful, get too close and they can still get at you. As this area is fairly close to the first lantern it's not only a nice little cheesy area for echoes, but also chances of stone drops.

think it's magic but I haven't quite figured it out either. Like I got the gladiator gloves and when I wear them now I have an item in my inventory that does some special magic shit. I don't have enough arcane, but if I did, I imagine it would work

I gave it to the daughter who originally gives you the music box. But there is no reward. The news of her mother's death destroys her, and she just sobs. I laughed out loud at this... should have just sold it in the hunter's dream
 
One tip I would give people who are in the semi-early game (within the first 4 bosses) is to start buying blood vials to start stocking them up. Unless you're popping vials like crazy, I find that using leftover souls after leveling up or just investing 1k or so souls to buy vials each time you enter Hunter's Dream ensures you won't be in a place where you run out completely and try to amass souls (grind) for a good chunk of time just to progress. I do miss the estus flasks though, it was a perfect system in Dark Souls.

Im not sure what to do now. Im currently in
Old Yarham. Defeated the machine gun guy. I just picked up the ritual blood on the altar. I have searched everywhere in this area. What am I missing?
 
Does the dialog of the NPCs you talk to through doors (who don't leave or start quest lines) ever change? Is there some point in the game I should run back through and talk to all the people who told me to go away again?
 
I don't get the blood vial complaints. I have my equipped maxed at 20 and I keep finding more from enemies, I am up to 42 stocked in my storage (for 62 total) and it keeps growing. I have not farmed for them at all.

Is there a level cap for pvp? I'd gladly help you.
Just add me "Kyuubi-no-Youko" and we try that password pvp.
 
Isn't it weird that I'm doing almost the same damage with the Saw Cleaver+3 and with the 2handed Ludwig Sword R1 attacks? (obviusly the R2 Ludwig is stronger).
 
So what is Madman's Knowledge? Should I just equip it and use it immediately? Also how often do you guys use the Coldblood Dew? Do you save them?

If you have the shortcut open, the path you have to take is right next to it when you go down the ladder. If not head out the door you got the blood from and hang a right.
 
Does anyone have/know what stats are scaled with a 10+ chikage? I am really debating between an arcane or bloodtinge build right now. But I want to use chikage but I might give up on that goal. The holy blade is good for an arcane build.
 
I'm standing outside the 3rd boss with the GAF password on, if anyone wants to help =]

Not sure if he's the third for everyone, don't know the name but he
spits poison and jumps around a lot
. Almost had him down on my own after a couple tries, but I just want to kill this fucker.

save them for when you are in the hunter's lodge. If you use them in the field and you die it will be the biggest waste ever wouldnt it

Don't know for sure, but I think bloodtinge.

Mine does, yeah. It's almost like the pre-ordered one was a different SKU than the released version. It works though and is in my library so whatever I guess?
