The fact the dude brought up genshin impact is laughable or better yet any anime game I dont want to hear anything about games and skimmpy women when just turn on any award show and you can see women 75% almost naked on prime time tv. But it's a good example of why the entire premise of the article is complete bullshit.
When you have the women in the new God of War, a franchise once infamous for featuring nudity and sex minigames, dress like Freya, pretending like Aloy is some outlier in a medium largely dominated by half naked women is stupid and just plain false.

Depends on what you think is embarrassing. I find myself embarrassed for grown adults who love Marvel movies and talk about that love in public even though those films are totally sexless. Culture seems more divided than it used to be. You have stuff that is totally gynaecological and explicit like porn and certain pop songs, or you have stuff that is totally puritanical. Movies seem to have drifted away from eroticism in a trend that has noticeably restricted the artform and there seems to be a clamour for the same thing to happen to games.

I don't know for sure, but eroticism is somehow a different thing to just extreme explicit content. Internet content as a whole tends to favour the sort of content that shouts their intention the loudest. You see this in various ways like music being in a literal "loudness war", youtube being in a competition for videos that make you angry at nothing the fastest, Disney becoming an all devouring "family friendly" behemoth.

I'd love to actually see someone try to explain away the Genshin Girls's outfits as "Skimpy" though for real. In just what way are they skimpy? Are they all skimpy or just some of them? Because then the "argument" is dead because you can easily play the non-skimpy girls (or the men) in the game since you're not forced to play with any character for the most part.
That said, I think anyone who calls those outfits "skimpy" is completely fucked in the head in all honesty.
