It does look like Fone Bone...

levious said:So what was the Samurai Jack getting canceled rumor about? The recent batch of new episodes were not conclusive to the series, nor was there any indication that there would be no more... they seem to have been advertising for the show a lot lately on the network.
GG-Duo said:ordered. i've got high expectations for it...
since this forum has recommended so much great stuff before.![]()
It's not a rumor. CN dropped their support of it. Those episodes were finished ages and ages ago and CN just sat on them for forever before cramming then in on a Saturday a couple weeks ago. The first of those four actually aired last December in the UK, so CN has been sitting on these for ages. They just aren't interested in the series. Here is an interview with Genndy where he talks about CN dropping Samurai Jack, about Clone Wars and about his upcoming Astro Boy movie. CN has basically expressed no interest in doing more with Samurai Jack, unfortunately. I hope they at least release the rest of the episodes on DVD.levious said:So what was the Samurai Jack getting canceled rumor about? They'd have to written and produced first... and Genndy's moved onto other things, like Clone Wars and making a CGI/live-action Astro Boy film. The show is pretty much dead. All we can hope for is a one-off film that wraps it up.AniHawk said:If people watch the series now and the ratings are good, maybe the final eps will be shown.
GG-Duo said:this book is pretty friggin' awesome so far
i love its sense of humor & the art is also great. There's a page where Rock Jaw goes to the farm and sniffs around that's just really really well "directed".

GG-Duo said:Yar, pretty much. I don't read Western comics [not that there's wrong with them, it just wasn't a part of my culture]
I'll definitely recommend this to all my friends who liked LotR. It's a very cinematic and comparable comic series.
GG-Duo said:I would rate it very highly. It deserves the praise that people give it.
I think it manages to do a lot of things at the same time - cinematic, grand, personal, cute, humorous, exciting... while having some really good artistic choices. I also enjoy how it's also bursting with messages (ideas?).
Telltale Games has announced that it will produce a PC-based videogame on Jeff SmithÂ’s Bone, a move which will raise the profile of the property again, following the recent release of ScholasticÂ’s first volume of the collected Bone under itÂ’s Graphix imprint.
According to Telltale, the game will start off in the first pages of SmithÂ’s epic. The gaming companyÂ’s announcement reads:
Lost in the desert and dying of thirst, the Bone cousins are separated by an angry swarm of locusts. Now Fone Bone, armed only with a mysterious map and his well-loved copy of Moby Dick, searches a strange valley to try and find his lost relatives. Along the way he will come face to face with its unusual denizens and begin to be drawn into the greater intrigues that surround the valley.
Telltale Games brings you all the humor, charm and mystery of Jeff Smith's acclaimed comic book series Bone. Fans of the comic and adventure gamers alike will find a new home in the valley, as they explore familiar locations and interact with its residents in this character driven adventure.
"Detailed rich characters and incredibly immersive story telling are everything to us," said Telltale's CEO Dan Connors in a press release. "We are proud that Jeff Smith and Cartoon Books have decided that we are the best partners to bring Bone to life in a series of PC games. The Bone world has so much texture and depth and combines a unique blend of superb adventure, mystery and humor – it is a great first license for Telltale."
"We are very impressed with the work the Telltale team has done in the past. WeÂ’re confident they can bring the fun and adventure of the Bone story to life. Bone has been a big hit with comic book lovers everywhere and reaching the PC market will allow even more people to boldly go where no Bone has gone before." commented Cartoon Books' publisher, Vijaya Iyer in the same release.
No release date for the game is given.

Well, the East Coast, and NYC simply isn't practical for me... not during the school year, anyway.AniHawk said:check out boneville.com. Ya live in the middle of nowhere or something?
Dan said:Pixar making Bone would really sweet, but again, it couldn't be done in one movie. A trilogy maybe? That'd be intense, and Pixar would be dedicating a good majority of their resources to pumping three out in a timely fashion, and likely without any other films in there. I'm not aware of any significant expansions at Pixar, so one film a year is pretty much maximum capacity. Not sure Pixar/Jobs would want to dedicate three years to basically one project. Maybe one film every other year, giving them the opportunity to do other movies at the same time, perhaps so as not to alienate or lose the totally family friendly market.
Hmm, that'd be exciting though. Risky on a few levels, but exciting too.
According to the Bone site, that appearance was on the 21st, and his other two Chicago appearances were the following two days. That's all he's got scheduled, thus far, for the US besides a couple conventions in the summer, and then a couple appearances in other countries.Semjaza Azazel said:The author of Bone is making an appearance at Chicago Comics sometime this month. I don't think it has passed yet (I hope not anyway). I lost the little flyer I had, unfortunately.

The whole world would be a better place if more people would read Bone. One of my fav's of all time
AniHawk said:He said that since November, since this Scholastic deal, that he's been getting movie offers from different studios, and that he's talked with Pixar a few times (formally, it sounded like). Interesting.![]()
WordAssassin said:Just got the One Volume Edition yesterday, started reading it thismorning. I'm in Book Three, Chapter Three (Road Trip). This is good. This is REALLY good. I haven't laughed out loud this much reading a comic in a long, LONG time.
If Pixar does make this into a movie, they'd have to do it in 2D. There are just so many classic, traditional-animation moments in it. (Things like eyes bugging out, jaws dropping, etc). It could work in 3D, I suppose, since it's Pixar we're talking about, but I think it's much better suited to be 2D. I hope Pixar gets it and puts those animation tables they bought from Disney to good use.![]()
WordAssassin said:Yeah, I saw that, but for some reason FireFox can't download whatever's needed to play it.
SO I opened it in IE and DAMN. That looks awesome! It totaly rips off the movements of a car chase I've had in my head for years, :lol but it's exactly as fluid and lively as I'd hope the Bone movie ends up.

WordAssassin said:I finished it just a little bit ago. That was truely fantastic...really really good story, and the ending didn't let me down like another epic series recently did.... (Dark Tower)

I don't know a ton about comics, but that's the Emmys or Oscars of the comicworld, yes?
