Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Right, though I think the real problem here is the internet adding a massive amplification effect to everything. When OJ Simpson was in that Bronco being chased around LA, and everyone was watching with bated breath, it might have been a little embarrassing for what it said about us as human beings, but it didn't have the same kinds of knock-on consequences (arguably the way the trial turned into a circus was a consequence, but I'd say that came more from the notoriety/celebrity aspect than in-the-moment idiocy). No one was zooming in on the driver's face and looking him up on the Facebooks and harassing his family etc etc.

My takeaway here is not necessarily that people must check out entirely (although that might be a good idea), but that people should at least rein themselves in: not try to figure everything out themselves, not pass on everything they hear anywhere, and not, especially not, act on what they hear or enable others to act on what they've heard. If you aren't signal, you are noise. And you almost certainly aren't signal.

You've always been my favourite colour.

The bombers' aunt is getting interviewed here: http://boston.cbslocal.com/live-video/

She's not as cool as Ruslan lol.

"evidence. Show me evidence. I don't trust FBI, I don't trust any agency. Evidence".

She wants to see the actual video of them placing the bombs before saying anything about the incident. Describing the kids, though.

yea it's pretty unbelievable. i'm starting to feel that they are not going to catch him at all. what happens then, if he's just simply gone? when will the search be called off? maybe he offed himself somewhere where he wont be found for weeks or months..
It seems extremely unlikely that he is actually on the move and if he has offed himself, he will definitely be found soon enough

The older brother had so much going for him. Why did he do it?

I think he took his religion too far.

“Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.”

-Steven Weinberg

Could one refuse entry in this situation claiming violation of constutional rights? I'm not American so I don't know how that works.

The way it works is afterwards, you would find a trial lawyer (or the ACLU) willing to sue the government for you and cut you a check for damages.

this right here.

I just watched that video of the gunfight and explosions.

Holy crap this is straight out of a movie that would be too hard to take seriously.

Also maybe this has been answered but how did the younger brother, the one on the run right now, escape that gun fight? In the car right? How were the police not able to give chase?

Wanting evidence isn't that weird of a demand tbh.

Off-topic: What happens when suspects are killed like this?
Are they considered innocent of the original crime they're hunted down for (I imagine they're guilty of evading arrest if they resist) or can they posthumously be charged with the crime?

The only question is whether he because radical before he went to Russia or after.

Turned on that video. All the Toronto-based media was there, so I'm guessing that was somewhere in the GTA.

Same guy?
