You can say that's not 'real Islam' or they are just a small minority or whatever. But you can't deny there has been some people driven to violence by their interpretation of their faith.

Certainly. This is true of most major religions, though. How many wars and atrocities have been committed in the name of "the one true God" or "Jesus?" Surely at least as many over history as have been in the name of Allah, if not many many more. It's hardly a phenomenon that is exclusive to Islam.

It's just that, of people who kill in the name of religion, it's only really those killing in the name of Islam who particularly attack the United States, at least in recent years.

The coverage they had for this when it broke was horrible. They kept showing this naked dude and no news at all. Seemed like they were scared to post anything.

Sorry are you disputing that use of marijuana is rendered illegal in any jurisdiction, disputing that it's state law in Nevada, or just want the statute that criminalizes it for other reasons?

Not living in Nevada I was completely unfamiliar with the Uniform Controlled Substances Act or any specific piece of legislation they've passed; this was just something I learned in passing watching an episode of Studio 60.

Reviewing the text of the Act, it appears that it is covered in statute 453.411:
NRS 453.411 Unlawful use of controlled substance; penalties.
1. It is unlawful for a person knowingly to use or be under the influence of a controlled substance except in accordance with a lawfully issued prescription.
2. It is unlawful for a person knowingly to use or be under the influence of a controlled substance except when administered to the person at a rehabilitation clinic established or licensed by the Health Division of the Department, or a hospital certified by the Department.
3. Unless a greater penalty is provided in NRS 212.160, a person who violates this section shall be punished:
(a) If the controlled substance is listed in schedule I (external note: this category includes cannabis), II, III or IV, for a category E felony as provided in NRS 193.130.
(b) If the controlled substance is listed in schedule V, by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 1 year, and may be further punished by a fine of not more than $1,000.

There is also NRS 453.566, which makes illegal the use of paraphenalia (though just a misdemeanor):
NRS 453.566 Unlawful use or possession. Any person who uses, or possesses with intent to use, drug paraphernalia to plant, propagate, cultivate, grow, harvest, manufacture, compound, convert, produce, prepare, test, analyze, pack, repack, store, contain, conceal, inject, ingest, inhale or otherwise introduce into the human body a controlled substance in violation of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor.

He originally escaped in a cop car, with every officer in a 500 mile radius looking for them. Then a green honda, now Odyssey.

GTA5 released a little early for him, but I'm just amazed as all hell how he's not been caught so far.
 
I still can't believe he got away last night, but it was likely due to them wanting to take him alive while he was throwing explosives, shooting, etc.

Still blows my mind they don't know where he is... What happened to the alleged explosives in a basement?

Running around in the dark after someone who might have left bombs is pretty difficult. Not to mention mobilising that many resources across an area can take time and be slow moving.

I wonder if these kids are somehow related to the Chechen terrorists in Russia. Those did numerous attacks in the past two decades, including taking an entire school hostage, blowing up two planes in the air, airport & subway bombings and so on. The last one was two years ago, details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Chechen_War#Terrorist_attacks.

Although I don't really see how a group apparently supporting Chechen separatists would benefit from blowing up some innocent people in Boston. Besides, the one who's still alive has lived in the USA since he was like nine, so you can't really call him a foreigner.

It was posted on the suspect's Twitter account. It's of him and his friends. The implications are two fold -- that these kids had very expensive vehicles/access to a lot of cash and perhaps whatever that license plate says.
 
Wait, who was the guy plastered on all the news stations last night who was laying on the ground face down at gunpoint? You know, the guy they stripped naked and supposedly took into custody? The one suspect is dead and the other guy got away, so who was that guy? Just some random dude in the neighborhood?

Very early on in this whole event the police caught someone made him strip off all his clothes in case he had bombs strapped. Around a similar time reports were flying in that the first suspect was caught. CNN assumed the naked guy was the first suspect and for hours was reairing the footage of him getting apprehended. Later in the night we found out the naked guy was just someone in the wrong place at the wrong time and that the first suspect was killed. Several hours after this confirmation CNN was still raving about naked guy and how he was the first suspect and speculating on his connection. CNN was just so completely out of the loop is why everyone is making fun of them.
