Except I struggle to decide between 2 and 3.

Season 3's ending was a brilliant, demanding, backed into the corner, clawing for survival, dramatic piece of irony.

Season 2's ending was a deus ex machina, largely irrelevant plane crash.

The choice is obvious.

Just finished up "Face Off". Such a crazy finale, and it's fun watching it again knowing what's going on. I forgot about Walt getting his neighbor to go into his house to flush out the hit men. The show puts you in a weird situation where I'm happy to see Jesse and Walt reconcile at the end and shake hands (plus the shots of them burning down the lab together before that) even though it's meaningless since Walt's been manipulating him during the tail end of the season.

Yea I'm excited to go into S5 fresh, I was out of the country when S4 aired and didn't get to see it until several months later, but at that point I'd had many of the big moments spoiled for me.

Probably part of the reason S4 sits a little behind 2 and 3 as my favorite seasons.

I like it when they're working together, too, but I'm just conflicted because of the undercurrent of what Walt has done behind his back. The show does a great job of building up Walt as someone to root for and then continuing to chip away at our image of him over the course of the series.
