im a little dissapointed. i used to have optimum online and it was faster than that. ive got rcn "mach7" now which advertises at 7mbps down and 800kbps up (they say its the fastest residential internet connection available anywhere, who knows). i wish the UP was faster but it does match advertised speeds, while my down is a solid 2mbps off what is advertised.

im just interested in what speeds you are all are getting. its good to know where you stand. im thinking about tweaking my modem settings, does that really work? if it does how well?

3mbit down, 200kbit up. Pretty much what I pay for. Don't trust the up rating they give me, considering I tested it twice, first time gave me 70kbit, second time gave me 200. And when I was using about 3/4 of my up bandwidth it said 170kbit.

Where are you located? I have an MRTG graph monitoring up and down bandwidth and I notice a definite change from about 11:15-1:45 every weekday and between 5:00PM and 11M on Saturday.

Astrolad: I bow to your bandwidth ownage. RESPECT! I've got Comcast, and it's good. I wish the up was higher. Downloads have never really been a problem. I can wait a few hours for a torrent. It doesn't really matter much to me. But the upload sucks. It's the only reason my ratio never gets that high. When upload speeds increase, life's gonna be so much better. PEACE.
