Broken Arrow's theme is amazing and people should talk about it more

just listen to that shit

Throughout the years, whenever people talk about movie music and themes, this one practically never gets mentioned. I think in the seven years I've been on GAF, only once have I seen someone mention it.

But they should. It's fantastic. Hank Zimmer at his (almost) best. We've often heard the tired "Zimmer keeps recycling the same shit over and over". I'm not sure if there's much truth to that statement, but his work on Broken Arrow should prove how good he is. The movie's theme is great and doesn't sound at all like his other work.

I remember back in the early 2000s, when Napster came out and it was the craze, the theme of Broken Arrow is one of the first things I downloaded from it. I played the Mega Man X games on ZSNES with Broken Arrow playing on top. Memories.

I haven't watched the movie in years. I think I'll do that this week.

The late 90s, early 00s had some fantastic Action movie scores.

Con Air
Armageddon
Rock
Twister
Deep Blue Sea
Face Off

"I don't know what's scarier, losing nuclear weapons, or that it happens so often there's actually a term for it."

;p

I agree OP, when watching this movie as a kid I always thought the music was the stand out, even better than the actual film, lol

It might be the broken arrow theme but it's best known as Deweys theme from Scream 2, and it is fucking perfect for the character in that film.

I watched this movie too many times to count. It's one of the most fun poorly acted movies ever and yes that theme is good. It sounded exactly as I had remembered it in my head and I haven't heard it in probably over a decade.

"F$#@ em if they cant take a joke."

Honestly I think it's a terrible theme
Terribly awesome.
I think the liner notes in the soundtrack talked about Zimmer's approach to it. The Devil was the most beautiful angel in heaven and had the most beautiful music.

And it did fuck with me when they reused it for Dewey's theme in Scream 2.

this OST sucks..even rainbow six vegas 2 main theme is much better than BA

Agreed, such an under-appreciated gem.

IMO low key secretly the best Western John Woo film. Everybody likes Face Off better, but I always felt this film is better paced and more tense, has equally great action scenes, and I just adore Travoltas slow descent in complete madness by the end of the movie. He has all these plans and backup plans in place and each time Hale foils them he gets a screw looser and looser. By the final fight he's lost it, and when Hale finally beats him, he's completely gone so batshit insane he actually stands up and lets the flying nuke hit him like he thinks he's invincible.
