The dev has been getting roasted on Reddit about clearly using AI generated assets. And using just a pixelated filter on top of HD assets. It does look absolute shit when you compare it to Project Shadowglass, for example:

I don't understand why? Who gives a fuck on the proviso that the game is good? People need to drop the AI hate, its a tool, its gonna' get used like any other tool. If the end result is good, the right tool was chosen if not, the work will fail to hit home.

Personally I'd take Broken Glass over that. I can't stand that style looking at it on a phone screen, let alone a monitor or TV. That's like doing all the work for a normal fully 3D game then gimping it to be different. It might look okay on a CRT, but I don't have one.
