The Brooklyn college student senselessly stabbed to death at Cornell University was trying to get a sick friend home to bed when the pal accidentally bumped a woman’s shoulder and sparked a bloody brawl, loved ones told the Daily News on Monday.
Exclusive video shot during Omega Psi Phi’s annual welcome party showed the final hours of slain Ithaca College sophomore Anthony Nazaire doing his version of the Milly Rock dance craze Sunday as partygoers on the Ivy League campus held up phones to record his impressive moves.
The great time turned tragic shortly after Nazaire’s buddy Rahiem Williams fell ill with stomach pains, fellow Ithaca sophomore Chanel Perez said Monday.
“Come outside, I need help,” Nazaire texted Perez around 1 a.m. Sunday, she told The News.
The undergrad from Washington Heights said she quickly found Nazaire watching over Williams and ordered a cab to take them all home. After about 20 minutes of waiting, Nazaire left with Williams to hitch a ride with another friend parked about a block away, Perez said.
As the two men made their way south on campus, Williams “bumped a girl by accident,” Nazaire’s sister Kiara Nazaire, 24, told The News on Monday.
“Both of them apologized, even my brother apologized, and he didn’t bump the girl,” the older sister said.
The unintentional knock somehow drew the young men into a fatal fight that ended with both of them stabbed, she said.
