Brute force still works (fixed my DS by hitting it)

So I'm playing Mario & Luigi and notice the L button isn't responding on some menu scrolling thing. I pop in Meteos and sure enough, the L button isn't responding at all. Now I'm fucking angry cause my PSP's d-pad broke not to long ago and I just got AC & Mario & Luigi.

I take the ds and start hitting the L button against the desk. First lightly, than a bit harder, but it still didn't work. Then I hit it 3 times REALLY HARD (like a hammer) and tada~, it works now :lol

Son of a bitch though, my DS is a scratched up old launch unit which I could not get replaced.

What the hell do you do with your portables. @_@
THEY TURNED ME INTO AN ANIMAL

I was real careful with them at first, but now I'm dropping them all the time. My psp's inside a logitech playgear, yet it still sorta broke (I'm pretty sure it was because of a drop anyway)

but I'm not worried, I'll fix the psp by opening it up, not hitting it against the desk :lol When buttons dont respond it's just an internal part that got misplaced.

:lol :lol :lol Thats ALWAYS my first way of fixing things, If its not working. Hit the shit outta it with somthing, or against something.

My Success rate would be about 80%

My DS could pass for a new system and it was bought at launch. You suck :P

Wish I could say the same. Usually taking care of my electronics is top priority but I made the mistake one day of putting my ds in the same pocket as my keys. Once I got to work I noticed some nasty scratches on the shell. I cried :(

That was going to be the intent with my DS... I babied it like crazy to keep it perfect-looking until I went to E3 and dropped it on the pavement (I'm extremely clumsy) and now it's covered in scratches. :(

my electric blue ds fell out of my jacket pocket when getting into my car one day.. fell onto the pavement..

Looks like the day i took it out of the box..

Personally I think the blue DS's are much more durable in terms of paint.

Nintendo does really make great hardware, I've dropped my DS a bunch of times, it's pretty solid.

My hinge is really loose to the point where the top screen actually rattles when it's open. Anyone know how I can tighten it?

Does anyone have a link to that console-crash test? XBox, GameCube and PS2 dropped from a ladder, smashed by a jackhammer, etc. Can remember PS2 dying after the first drop, XBox and GameCube lasting to the finals. GameCube won in the end (as the XBox wasn't able to open up anymore).

It would explain the scratching. SuperDave scratches ANGRY.
So he isn't dancing on the DS while scratching? I can't see SuperDave's feet...
