Hello all!
I've saved up enough money ($2,000) and am now going to build my own computer. I've never done this before, so I have a couple of questions:
1. Are there any sites out there already that have a step-by-step guide to doing this? Preferably something up to date.
2. Of those of you who have built your own computers in the past, are there any steps that you found tricky or had trouble with? I'm assuming it can't just be as simple as plugging everything together - there's gotta be a way I can screw it up, right?
3. Choosing components: I figure 2k is enough to build a pretty sweet system. My main concerns are having the fastest RAM possible, and the best possible processor and graphics card for video editting, digital imaging, and 3D rendering. Sound is not that big a deal to me, and being able to record off the TV (ala TiVo) would be a nice plus. That said, any suggestions?
4. I'm planning on going through New Egg for everything - good idea, bad idea?
Thank you in advance,
~Cris
