i think all 3 of your cards look like shit. they look unprofessional and are completely un-artistic. im a minimalist by nature so i get the whole less-is-more thing, but your cards make me think of a 13 year old having fun with his new bubblejet and making silly cards to hand out to his buddies.

ill admit that i dont know who this GBA looking video game character is, what phantomile is, or what "turbo simple" is. i openly admit that because i feel if you have to explain it, youve ruined whatever artsy message you were going for.

you can be artsy and professional while still keeping it simple and minimal.

Get the Snatcher shit off the card. It means nothing to people who don't know what it is and it works against you even if someone knows what it is.

You have to admit that the characters in these graphics are reminiscent of the video game art of the era when the following line rang anew:

"The once, great champion.....now....a study....in mumpishness."

I'd normally agree with a lot of these comments if it weren't for the idea that Johnny supposedly looks like Gillian Seed (the Snatcher guy) IRL. That makes it appropriate and kinda cool, IMO, and I think non-gamer folks looking at his card for the first time would agree (until/unless they were told it's actually a game character and not a specially-created portrait).

Yeah, i've got that bit, but it would be better if he took a photo of himself and did some effects in post (pixelate, reduced color palette, etc.) to make himself look like a game character, than using an already established character, especially one from a game hardly anyone played on Sega-frickin'-CD.

i know it's Johnny's card and all, but i'm really against the idea of a game character representing him on the card to being with. Like a previous poster said, it looks like the kind of thing a 13 year old would hand out to his friends, just replace "photogtaphy" with "web design".

Having said that, i think burger's card is best. A safe contemporary design with text that can actually be read without holding the card a foot away and rotating it.
