Wait...Why would the 60" be the only size that uses a Sharp panel? Where'd you hear about this? Is there something that documents this?
I know TV manufacturers uses panels from other companies but I'm asking about this particular size and model. I'm confused why this one size would use a Sharp panel and the other sizes use Samsung panels. I'm not calling anyone a liar but I need proof to go on...It's true. Would you believe me if I told you except for the $30k BVM x300 OLED used for authoring home video transfers, there are NO Sony panels used in Sony TVS?
Even panel sources like LG and Samsung use 3rd party LCD panel from other makers like AOU, Sharp and others
In fact, NO TV maker produce all the LCD panels for all their products.
Trying to pick that up this week. I sit about 6 feet from my TV and currently have a 47". I'm afraid 60" would be overkill but the difference between a 49" and 60", price-wise, is not much. The KS8000 seems to be the best way to go though.
No such thing as overkill, man. My only regret about picking up the KS8000 is that I got the 55" instead of splurging for the 65".

Thanks for the link. I guess I'll go with the other sizes then. To be fair though I was looking at the 60" KS8000 in person at Best Buy and I couldn't really tell any difference with the others side by side :-/Using different LCD manufacturers for different sizes within the same model type is pretty much a universal practice these days.
There are even cases where a single size and single model will have different panel manufacturers.....hence the term Panel Lottery
For instance :

Do a Google search for "LCD panel lottery" and prepare to have your mind blown
The 60 inch has a Sharp panel and is not nearly as good as the Samsung panels in the 49, 55 and 65 inch models. Stick with one of those instead, trust me Shinobi![]()
Best Buy has a deal where you can get the Samsung 55inch UN55KU6300FXZA for $799 and you get an Xbox One S for $50 bucks basically. Save $250. Just Ebay off the Xbox for $250 ad the final TV cost would be $550 bucks.

How much better is the KS8000 though? That's a pretty damn good deal...
The KS8000 is significantly better in many respects due to the color purity and improved brightness of quantum dot technology, but everyone's budget is obviously different.
Considering to buy KD-43XD8305 ( X830D in US probably ) soon. Little more expensive than X800D, but considerably better.
It has IPS panel ( VA panel X800D ), 120 Hz refresh rate ( 60Hz X800D ), Frame Interpolation 800 Hz ( 200Hz X800D ) and so on.
I read that VA panels has better contrast than IPS panels, but how much better? Probably if you paid more for TV which has IPS panel, black would be the on the same level as VA panel or better?
VA contrast is substantially better. An IPS without FALD can't display black really, so all blacks will be grey.
I had the IPS sony 850d and returned it after two weeks. Any dark scenes in movies were completely ruined. Same with games. And that was a 1500 dollar TV.
Edit: I have ks8000 now. Love it. Any minor light bleed on the top corners when viewed off center in a dark room is what the entire screen of the 850d looked like at all times.

So is this a good tv?
Nice to hear.I just bought a 65" Samsung KU6409. (European model for the german market, no idea what the model is called in the US or if its available at all)
Its not SUHD, but it supports HDR Pro and has 28ms input lag in Game Mode with HDR.
It cost 1300, which was a little over my budget but still okay. Since size was very important to me I couldn't go SUHD, because 60"+ SUHD TVs(or comparable models by other manufacturers) aren't available for less than 2000.
So far I'm very happy with the TV. BF1 looks great on it, the size is perfect. Now I have to wait for my Ps4 Pro.
At work I have a Samsung KS7090 (49") and so far I'm more impressed with my TV, but maybe its just the size.
Was also looking at that option due the KS8000 being expensive as fuck.
This is what I have. I wish I have the extra money for an OLED 4K.

I've been looking at the vizio m55-d0 to get when I get a ps4 pro, I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this model and is it 100% hdr10? It does say it use Dolby vision so I would assume so.
Sony just released an update to fix latency issues when gaming in 4KHDR it seema they allow you to make a change in HDR mode now where you can turn off motionflow while gaming.

Im assuming this will bring the latency down to the same level as the regular game mode. I have no way to test but im sure that probably waa the cause of the high numbers tested by rtings and others.
Well neither are good because you'll lose lossless audio. If you have to choose one, I'd go ps4 to the receiver. Not sure if this is the right thread but I have a quick question. I bought a KS8000 in preparation for the pro but ran into a hitch. My Yamaha receiver has 4K pass through but no hdr pass through. Am I better off running the hdmi from the PS4 to the tv and an optical cable from the PS4 to the receiver or running an hdmi from the PS4 to the tv and running an optical from the tv to the receiver?
Any advice would be appreciated!!
I hear ya and thanks. I would like to upgrade the receiver but my wife is less than amused that I bought a new tv and PS4 pro lolWell neither are good because you'll lose lossless audio. If you have to choose one, I'd go ps4 to the receiver.
Anyone upgrade from a VT25 to a ks8000?
Was it a good call? Was there significant input lag in comparison?

After a lot of deliberation. Ordered a Vizio P50-C1 today. I've been gaming on a 40+ms TV for a while now without noticing anything, don't really play multiplayer in my room, mainly single player console games. At the moment it has ~60ms of input lag in HDR, but they said in an update they'll be bringing it down to around 45ms.
But I hear there are some other issues as well (that I don't know whether I'll notice or not). If they do end up mattering, then I'll return the TV, deal with my current 8 year old TV's issues, and wait for next year's models that will hopefully address the shortcomings of this year's models.
European model numbers differ for some reason. As far as I can tell the display technology in the European KS7000 is the same as the US KS8000, though I've seen claims that the speakers and cosmetics differ. One claim listed as KS7005 that was identical to the American KS8000 which is the lowest-end SUHD model offered here.
Cool.Currently typing this reply using this TV with my alienware alpha and it's great after the last update. Personally I love this TV and had minor issues only with streaming wirelessly which I fixed by going hardwired.
Typically, manufacturers put lower end models on heavy sales for Black Friday rather than relatively higher end models like the KS8000. I doubt it'll go on sale but regardless, I'm still waiting just in case.Is the KS8000 something that might get some Black Friday love? Or is it too nice? I've never bought a tv on Black Friday no idea of the quality of the offerings.

input lag is lower on the samsung....
don't go from the tv to the receiver via optical, it can only do 2.1
either HDMI ARC from your TV to your receiver (assuming your receiver supports it), or optical from your ps4/pc/whatever straight to the receiver
