In Café New York 9/11, players step into the shoes of Sameer, a Pakistani-American café owner living in Lower Manhattan during the week of the attacks. Through meaningful dialogue, player-driven choices, and richly detailed environments, the game paints a heartfelt portrait of community, identity, and resilience in the face of uncertainty.

Curious to know who is making this and if any of them were an adult and in new york during 9/11.

I was able to see the buildings on fire and collapse.

They were some very, very interesting polls taken after 9/11 of Muslims. I remember them clear as day but if you try to find them online now it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Here is what the game's website says:

"Emotionally-Driven Gameplay Make difficult choices through branching dialogue and meaningful interactions that impact relationships and reveal hidden stories"

Will some of these choices available match what a sizable portion of the Muslim community thought of the attcks at the time?

I almost fell asleep reading the synopsis. I'm sure it's a heart wrenching story that challenges your preconceptions or whatever and makes you want to sing "heal the world, make it a better place", but seems a bit light on gameplay.

Yeah, a lot of thoughtful dialogue happened with Middle Eastern people that week...............

You've got to have some incredibly great writers to be able to tell a story like this without being something entirely self-serving and tone deaf.

There is a line between what is a videogame and what is an animated novel, this looks more like they second one.

I wonder when the arbitrary point of "too soon?" ends?

Anyways, great stories are often tied to tragedy. I'd rather wait to see what they pull off rather than cynical speculation of what it might be.

This game is sketch. Apparently made by a studio of 2-10 veteran AAA devs. They claim to have "worked" on Tiny Tinas, Splitgate, Fortnite, and Life is Strange. Their Linkedin only has posts regarding this game and their Paris cafe sim.

This shit is going to come with malware.

Folks are free to make whatever they see fit. What a day in my and others life, though. Joined the Marines August 14th of that year because I was let go from construction and couldn't find a job to support my family. I was supposed to ship out to San Diego on September 12th.

Wife went into labor early on September 11th and was down at her moms when the first aircraft hit, I was taking care of my other two children and she called to tell me my grandmother was in the living room and a plane had hit a New York skyscraper. I walked out of my kids room she was saying someone was attacking us she thought, my wife came home and said that our son was going to come early.

I called my recruiter and all flights had been canceled. I remember people were scared and we were driving to Champaign, Illinois to covenant hospital. The gas stations were packed with folks getting gas, news was spreading by mouth everywhere with people listening to their car radios.

My wife held on till 1247 AM on September 12th, I left for boot camp three days later and spent the next 15 years in and out of the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. Never got to serve during peace time.

What memories folks must still have of that day. Still feels like yesterday.

I'm sorry but the trailer with the close up of the main characters face and the shitty graphics, combined with the absolutely tone deaf and weird music just made me bust out laughing. Like wtf is this piece of donkey doo doo. This has to be a parody game because otherwise i don't get it.
