Who else feels no effects from caffeine?

People are always talking about how they get hyper and giddy, after a coffee or even (wat) a can of soda/pop.
I drink a coffee, and go to sleep. It does nothing!

Though sometimes I wish it would...

What the fuck, that's what happens to me. I'M NOT ALONE?! I THOUGHT I WAS ALL ALONE! *cries and hugs sky*

Its okay I guess, I mean it's nothing compared to some decent goey but a large cappuccino the morning after a big night out still gets my heart pumping.

Right here:D

Sanjuro I know what you mean but I have enough vices don't need blow to make me worse. Man can coke wake you up when needed.

It's not addictive man. I'll give you a freebie. You will surf GAF like never before.

You're not alone.

No matter how much caffeine I have, it doesn't seem to do anything.

You guys sure you're drinking the right stuff? De-caff isn't street slang as in "It's de caff man!", it actually means DEcaf you know?

You know how sugar gives you a rush and then you crash? I think maybe coffee does the same thing, but you don't notice the rush and only the crash?

for the record it puts me right to sleep as well.

It's either a placebo effect or butterfly effect. I forget which.

Placebo effect is what happens when you trick yourself into believing that something has some effect on you. Like, lucky charms.

The butterfly effect is when something big happens from a small event. Like, a butterfly flapping its wings creating a hurricane.

That said, caffeine is neither. It's a stimulant, but some people don't get as affected by it as others.

God I'm bored and should probably be studying.

I was joking about not knowing which it was. The correct answer is "placebo effect". People think it's supposed to wake them up, so it does. Simple as that.

I find that if I'm noticeably tired, I'm fucked and pretty much down for the count no matter what I drink.

Getting more or better sleep is probably the best solution.

I sometimes drink a Dr. Pepper to kinda relax me before I go to sleep. It's like my comfort soda.

I drink two redbulls right before bed, myself.

I have a small tolerance for pretty much everything, including caffeine. If I have one soda I'll get shivers and shit. Yup.

I've been caffeine free for a while now though. So, yay.

i get kind of wired if i take a ton of caffeine, but i like a cup of coffee before i go to sleep as well

I'm sensitive to caffeine, yet I drink an energy drink (sugar free) every morning. To be honest, it's pretty awesome. I love the buzz that I get.

I've built up a tolerance to it over the years. I used to drink about 64oz of brew & espresso coffee a day while in college to get through my 14 hour days, now I find myself in the working world and drinking it non-stop until 1pm and still don't really feel any more awake.

I'll sometimes lose track of time as a result and still be drinking coffee at 4pm.

Strangely, this has no correlation to my productivity. Pretty productive regardless.

It's called tolerance. Start drinking no caffeine and see what happens.

This appears to be true. I used to be a big pepsi drinker before moving exclusively to water and tea (and losing about 30kg’s). Every now and then when I have the occasional caffeine drink now I find myself able to stay awake till the wee hours of the morning.

I used to drink a whole bunch of Caffeine now I cut that out of my diet. Everytime I have even a little now it makes me numb/jittery... it's awful.

Caffeine pills are pretty much the only way for caffeine to hit me. Coffee makes me sleepy usually, can't tell if it's because it's warm or what.

Personally, its a habbit but i MUST have one of these soon as i walk out the door in the Morning...I dont know what it is..it not only wakes me up but also seems to make my body feel good in the morning

*raises hand*

Tea, coffee, espresso, Red Bull. Nothing.

Opposite is true, too. Shit like Nyquil and Tylenol PM do just about nothing to me as well.

Oh tolerance, how I love/loathe thee.

Maybe it's the delightful, bubbly goodness?

Nobody freaking believes me when I tell them caffeine doesn't do anything to me, they all think I'm just trying to brag or something. I still like coffee just for the taste, and it helps my mind in some fashion, but decaf does that too so I think it's just self-induced placebo'ing.

Nyquil PM puts me out like a light though.

I can drink 25 beers and not get drunk. What am I doing wrong, GAF?

You're drinking beer....and likely morbidly obese.

Bingo.

You build up a tolerance over time. Go a minimum few months without any caffeine whatsoever, then have yourself that coffee and see how that goes :lol

Only coffee does the trick. Although it has weirds effects on me. First my mood lifts and I'm acting like on cocaine. After two hours the effects invert and I'm feeling nauseous and I've no appetite for a couple of hours.

Coke & energy drinks are worthless in that regard.

I drank a coke last night before bed. Fell asleep in 5 minutes. If I don't drink a soda in the morning, I get a headache. Caffeine doesn't keep me up or wake me up, but it will give me a headache if I don't get it in my system.
