Or:

THAW is a pretty good game.

So I picked up THAW for my trusty old Cube, mind you this is the first TH game that I bought for a console and not for PC.

The bad:

-graphics. Fucking ugly. Abysmal resolution, swimming textures, low-res crap everywhere. Ugh. Give me THPS2/3/4 for the PC anyday. I totally forgot how much better PC graphics on the overall is.

- silly punk rock theme. I just don't like it. I know skating fits in the punk rock society but I just don't like it.

The good:

- MUSIC.
NO MORE of that shitty rap. Only SEVEN crappy hip-hop songs. The rest is pure gold - Rock and Punk-Rock. Easily my favourite TH OST ever.

And there's even a GREEN DAY song!

- classic mode.
Ahhh, the favourite of the favourite. There's nothing like chilling on some old-school maps with Dead Kennedys' music in the background.

- BMX. So much F-U-N.

Anyone else picked this up? PS2, GCN or 360?

do you not online game? because the online mode is where it's at with these titles. you bought the gimped version.

also...i tried the xbox version. I thought the graphics were alright. I actually liked the underground comic style that illustrates some of the story sections, etc. though I know that's not what you're complaining about.

actually, after not really enjoying THUG all that much this seems like a little bit of an improvement, even if it is a marginal iteration of what shouldn't be a yearly release. The classic modes are always appreciated.

Big Brother, the defunct skateboarding mag had a Fresh vs. Hesh issue pitting hip-hop skaters against the rockers. I never understood why people were so polar when it came to music.

Gotta say, though, the quality of the hip hop in the Tony Hawk series has far outstripped the rock. You gotta take a lot of the bad with the good in the rock department, but almost every hip hop track they've licensed has been exceptional. Unless, that is, you're allergic to hip-hop. Then you're fucked.

Online + GameCube in one sentence does not compute, Musashi :lol

I dig the split-screen, though, when the framerate is higher than 10 fps of course. And the comic is alright, the style is nice and I really love the intro (hand drawing stuff).

yea, I know, but get it on ps2. better controller and online, ftw.

you know, I'm sure it's great on gc. my only point was you should try it online. it adds a lot to the package.
