Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Early Access beta is going live now!

Tried the beta, didn't like it that much. At least on the PS5, game looks a bit washed out, not sure why. Feels like MW3 looks a bit better in that regards, but I might be wrong since its been a while since I played. Guns feel good, as with every other COD game. Maps feel uninspired, but the different palette changes is appreciated. Still love the medals popping out while getting kills. Omnimovement felt like a gimmick, or maybe I'm not using it right. Stopped using it after a while. I'll probably be skipping COD this year.

Got a 666 hour ban (at least it was 666 when I checked) playing the Beta on PC.
Was lifted the next day along with everyone else's, but I'm not playing this on PC anymore.

Hoping the PS5 Pro improves image quality for COD, since that's my main problem with console COD.

Hah was just writing that visuals are my main problem with console COD, but in the case of a beta, usually the textures at least aren't as high quality as final release? Maybe I'm misremembering, but I know betas often had graphical problems, Vanguard beta for example:

I remember they had texture streaming for some previous games, not sure if they had it for this beta. Regardless, the beta didn't seem to pull me compared to previous COD betas.

So I went back into the beta with some friends and we ended up playing 4-5 hours having a good bit of fun. I have a high end PC but also a PS5 that gives a different experience with the big tv and surround sound. Is there an overwhelming consensus on which version I should buy in my situation?

I am in the same boat and getting it on PS5 as when I play solo I will 100% turn off cross play to avoid playing against PC players

IMO get it on Gamepass for "free" and then see if your friends stick with it, buy it for whichever platform. PCs connect to TVs as well but I'm sure your setup probably doesn't allow for that otherwise you wouldn't be in this predicament.

If your friends abandon it, you can still buy it on PS5 and turn off crossplay to avoid cheaters.

Those are the moves, IMO.

See I considered this but my two friends who play on PS5 said they've tried this in the past and it makes it hard to find games. They could have been misremembering or flat out wrong but it's something that concerns me.

I have done it the last 2 CODs and the Playstation user base is so large I find matches right away and did this during the beta as well

i tried this too and it helps a little bit, after a few matches the sbmm kicks in and you can start getting matched with obvious cronus users but still better than outright cheats/trainers that PC players use. at least the beta was new so it wasn't that bad, but mw3 has had a much longer time for people to develop and use cheats, it's literally unplayable if you turn on cross play. you're almost guaranteed to come across cheating as soon as the sbmm puts you into lobbies with "good" players.

That's how I felt with MW2019. MW2019 had great graphics, satisfying animations, and more punchy/realistic gunplay, but for me that didn't translate to the snappy arcade-y fun of CoD's prior. I think BO6 might've crossed a bit too far into arcade-y land but I'm not complaining!

MWIII has a nice flow and this game is even better so I think they are on the right track, for most people.

I just have to keep in mind how large the CoD audience is so there is absolutely no way to make everyone happy, you just have to aim for a high percentage...
