I was playing this early this morning when it launched in Aus and yeh, I dunno how I feel about it.
I havdn't played a COD title since Black Ops on the X360, so I was fresh coming into MW3 a few weeks ago. I have actually really enjoyed the multiplayer. Its very familiar, but at the same time it's also changed a lot. But movement, gun play, feel etc we easy to get back into. My biggest gripe has been K+M vs Pad. In Hardcore, it elinminates some of the auto-aim as it's a one or two hit game, but holy shit is the auto-aim built into pad users over done. I knew other players would have it on cross play, but I never knew this morning just how ridiculously overpowered it was till I tried it in BlackOps 6 this morning, then went back and played MW3 core games again after to really understand. It's a fucking joke how much of it is built in.
Otherwise, aside from that gripe, I have really enjoyed it. The single player however, is utter trash.
Now BlackOps, it seems the opposite, The single player campaign so far is really really good, and I've enjoyed it. The multiplayer however, I just can't gel with. The map designs are....boring to me. They seem to funnel everyone to similar places and you always seem to get caught in 3 different cross fires without fail. The new movement system absolutely unquestionable, is built around a controller and I couldn't play MW3 with a controller, but I ended up actually relearning to use one this morning just because of my time with BlackOps and it became apparent how much this game is primarly based on controller, which is why I went back to MW3 with a controller having gotten used to it again to compare and noticed that playing Core games on a controller is like an aimbot for a mouse. It's ridiculous. Then there are the visuals, I feel like BO6 has less flinch in it and almost like it has a wider FOV by default as enemies seem somehow smaller or less easy to acquire in your vision somehow. There's just something.....off about it. Oh and the speed of it; jesus christ. MW3 never felt slow to me, but it did after BO6, BO6 feels like a cracked out ferret compared to MW3. Having some form of autism seems almost like a pre-requisite.
I dunno, I came away from my few hours this morning thinking i hadn't really enjoyed my time with BO6 multiplayer.
