Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

Got Call of Duty Black Ops 3 a day early on Thursday.
Played some campaign for an hour or so then, spent time trying to get accolades in campaign.
Fired it back up today & all progress is lost.
OK, I surmise, that was before the UK launch day so maybe it got reset or something.
Got back into it, did the same first mission again, this time getting more accolades & collectables.
Then played second mission, spent a long time again and again trying to get accolades.
Got to campaign hub area, played with altering my loadout & weapon options and tried out the training session to test weapons.
Then hit Save & Quit to find a network error in the main menu, find that the Call of Duty status page reveals an error with PS4 connections.
Retry game...
All my campaign progress is gone again!?!
I don't know if I can face mission 1 again.
Trade-in upcoming?

I'm disappointed by the server issues. They were fine pre-release. I had a blast with the game and look forward to playing it a lot more. The MP is insanely good.

My skills have seriously eroded with time, anyone have any tips? Lol, I'm terrible right now, rocking a .50 k/d. Haven't seriously played a COD game since Black Ops 1, and even then I wasn't great. Just seems like I die all the time and have no idea how it happened. No guns seem to click for me so far, I'm just lost. Seems like enemies are too close to spawn points when I die.


Any general tips/training strategies would be appreciated

As much as I hate to say it, I kind of wish the campaign had LESS content. It has the most behind the scenes stuff and customization for a COD campaign to date, but since the campaign itself has been pretty boring so far, I don't want to take the time to invest in this stuff.

Also Haymaker is a lot of fun, guessing you haven't used it or other shotties ?

That sucks, seems to be a lot of confusion over the split between offline campaign saves (where server issues don't affect it) and online campaign saves (where server issues can affect it). You can unlock every mission from the beginning of the game though, no special cheat or anything is needed. Just scroll down to whatever mission you want and select it.

Am I missing something in the MP? I get hitmarker after hitmarker and I am dropped instantly by just about anyone. Guy sponges like half a clip of a Weevil and then proceeds to OHK me with a shotgun at about 10+ meters. Something feels so very off about all of this.

Play Hardcore and camp. Works for me.

I think I'm officially too old for MP. It feels so unbelievably twitchy now and so many things are happening ('lightning strikes', grenades, grenade launchers, one-shotting guns, all the specialist abilities). I see a speck of a dude crouched behind cover and I'm dead. All the killcams are either a) someone sitting there waiting for people to walk by or b) explosives blowing me up.

I did somewhat better in deathmatch but domination in the few matches I played was just a gongshow.

You don't WANT THEM to talk. When they do talk, my god my experiences have been horrible. People shrieking into the mic, others chewing potato chips so loudly it sounds like crackling thunder, little kids singing gangster rap songs with terrible high voices. Seriously makes you appreciate basically any other community, it's easily the worst I've encountered in my 30 years of playing video games, not even original Gears 1 community was this bad. It's like a YouTube comment section come to life

It's impossible to find a match in xombies at this point. But whenever I do, its always with more than 4 people and when it starts it gets stuck on "awaiting textures" then back to main menu. Ahhgg

Progress is saved online, once the servers fix themselves it should restore you to the last checkpoint. Happened to me yesterday, no fucking idea why it has to be saved online when you play solo though, pretty annoying.

I guess I've gotten use to all that ever since COD4. I don't know, I just feel all the commotion made it feel lively.

Is everybody using party chat, or for some reason decided not to use their mics in BO3? I thought at first Treyarch might have disabled it.

Why won't this campaign end. I was so relieved to reach what I believed to be the end, then another entirely unnecessary and non-fun chapter happens.

I'm so sad. Met an amazing player playing solo and now he isn't joining my party anymore (no, I'm not that bad). KC is so hard with people who aren't very good.

PS4 servers have been so unreliable. Wonder if Xbox has been any better? Thursday my ping was 7-15ms. Now it's going between 33-90ms and sometimes 130ms.

I got the game for PS4 because all my buddies decided to get it there, but tbh the controller just isn't any good for mp fps. IMO of course.

So far I am absolutely dreadful at this game and I do not know why. I've been playing COD since before the modern warfare days, and on this, I can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn. Like, I literally can't do shit.

Fired up split-screen online multiplayer and one third of the screen is lost to black bars on either side of the player windows. Playing on XB1, but I read it's the same on PS4.

What gives? I played Ghosts and AW on PS4 and those games filled the entire screen. On top of this, BO3 looks jaggy and shimmery and the text (who killed who) is so small and pixellated that I can hardly read it.

Is this an XB1 thing or are both consoles affected by this?

Running off a hardwired connection to my university's apartments, so editing ports is a no-go haha. I still get into tons of games with a moderate connection anyhow.

Ah, that sucks but I don't know how else to alleviate your connection issues. I was always open prior to this game but had a Moderate NAT and had to open that specific port. Best of luck to you.
